GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
The liturgy of today is the kind reminder of God’s presence in our daily lives. It speaks of the Day of Judgment, the day of the second coming of Christ as the judge of the universe. This day is a glorious day for all the faithful servants and disciples of Christ. In the Gospel, Jesus foretells about the destruction of Jerusalem and then of the transformation of the whole universe. Jesus is not speaking of these things to frighten or terrify us, but is rather inviting each one of us to stand up and raise our heads to welcome the Saviour of the world. The day of judgement is a day of celebration for the faithful multitude which sings “Halleiujah!” to the king. The faithful ones will rejoice singing hymns and prayers as they had focused on God and Jesus. They are now in the presence of the Trinity filled to their hearts content. Their prayers will be answered as they go up before God like the smoke of incense in God’s house.
Prayer: Lord, help us to focus our attention on heavenly things so that we may celebrate Your second coming with joy and jubilation. Amen.
