Eren will not be silenced

Dear friends,

The Turkish government wants to throw human rights defender Eren Kesken in jail for speaking out for justice.
Show her that there is overwhelming support for her case. Add your signature now.
When human rights lawyer and newspaper editor Eren Kesken publicly criticized the Turkish military for the 2004 killing of 12-year-old Ugur Kaymaz, she was charged and convicted of “insulting the state.

A vocal critic of the Turkish state for decades, Eren has been prosecuted over 100 times, yet she refuses to give up on justice. Don’t give up on her. Her next arrest may the one that imprisons this important voice for years.

Stand up for this fearless human rights defender. Tell the Turkish government not to jail Eren Keskin.

Like many journalists and human rights advocates in Turkey, Eren has been targeted for her outspoken stand on the plight
of Turkey’s Kurdish minority. More trials mean she could be jailed at any time, for a long time.

Show Eren that there is overwhelming support for her right to free speech. Add your signature right now.

Over the past few years Eren has received death threats and survived armed attacks. Earlier this year, a special operations unit raided her home and the offices of the newspaper where she used to be an editor.

"When homes are raided because of thoughts, you can only talk about fascism, not democracy. I'm here. I'm not running away." -Eren Keskin
Eren’s case is featured in Amnesty International’s annual Write for Rights campaign, the biggest grassroots human rights event in the world.

These letters make a difference – we hear over and over from former Writes for Rights cases that letters from people like you helped change their lives.

Help change a life right now – sign the online petition urging authorities in Turkey to respect free speech and not jail Eren Keskin.

We’re grateful for your advocacy on behalf of human rights heroes like Eren. Thank you.

Sincerely,
