Female migration is often equated to family reunification. The figure of the migrant is 
that of a man and women are again invisibilisées. But according to statistics from the

The Geneva Convention, governing the right of asylum does not recognize violence and 
persecution specifically against women. And Ofpra, organization issuing the status of 
refugee in France, tends to describe violence against women to a "private matter" 
therefore not subject asylum because not political. But domestic violence are political in 
societies based on male domination.

Chained to their torturers

In addition, the establishment of an asylum file can be particularly distressing and

Arrested STHN strike COURSE THS 23rd February 2011 - On Wednesday, November 2 is set to

ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL ANARCHIST THEATRE FESTIVAL SEEKS PLAYS! ---- The Montreal 
International Anarchist Theatre Festival (MIATF), the only festival in the world dedicated 
to anarchist theatre, is looking for plays, texts, monologues, dance-theatre, puppet 
shows, mime, in English and French, on the theme of anarchism or any subject pertaining to 
anarchism, i.e. against all forms of oppression including the State, capitalism, war, 
capitalism, patriarchy, etc. We will also consider pieces exploring ecological, social and 
economic justice, racism, feminism, poverty, class and gender oppression from an anarchist 
perspective. We welcome work from anarchist and non-anarchist writers. ---- The 2017 
edition of the festival will take place on May 23-24. Are you interested in presenting

Dear all, ---- In May of 2016, two of our comrades in Azerbaijan, Qiyas Ibrahimov and 
Bayram Mammadov, were arrested for spraypainting the monument of the former dictator 
Haydar Aliev. It was on the night before the so-called "Flower holiday", a day made up in 
conmemoration of Haydar, the father of the current President of Azerbaijan. Nonetheless, 
as the charges for spraypainting would not have been very high, more than 1 kilogram of 
heroin was planted in each of our comrades' homes. ---- They were processed on different 
trials. Qiyas has already been sentenced to 10 years of prison, his friend Bayram Mammadov 
is still on trial. ---- From Azerbaijani comrades we received the text of Qiyas' speech in 
front of the jury, him being interrupted regurlarly by the judge. In support of his case, 
we made an audio version of this speech and the judge's comments.
