THE KINGDOM OF GOD - ALIVE AND DYNAMIC.

What is the Kingdom that is preached by Jesus? The parables of the mustard seed and the yeast describe the most important characteristics of the Kingdom of God preached by Jesus: its littleness and its hidden character; its activeness and liveliness.

Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed and to yeast. Mustard seed is small and tiny. It is put inside the earth; it sprouts and grows into a tree giving rest to the birds of the air. But though hidden, unknown, and even buried it does not remain there because it is not its proper place. A very little portion of yeast is mixed into a great quantity of flour. Although it is very little, unknown, and hidden, it does not remain as it is, but leavens all the flour.

The liveliness and dynamic character of the Kingdom can only be ours as the fruit of the working of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Lord open our eyes to see the wonder of your Kingdom, hidden and active in little things. Amen.
