FREE AHMED! Last trial on 28th of October, one of the persons of the Röszke11

Dear everybody!

The last trial of Ahmad H., one of the persons of the Röszke11, will
take place on the 28th of October, this Friday. The Syrian man is
accused for terrorism, and - as the judge said on the last trial - he
can be sentenced to life-long imprisonment.

In the last months we organized several demonstrations in Hungary along
with solidarity demos in other countries. During this time we had to
face with the extremely corrupted and biased approach of the court and
generally the Hungarian legal system, and the police repression against
our activity.

Two weeks ago, just before the trial Ahmad's lawyer resigned and we were
really busy to find a new lawyer. The NGO's which provide free legal
help - that is a very limited number in Hungary - finally didn't take
the case. At the moment Ahmad has a state lawyer, who is apparently
trying to do his best. He would like to postpone the trial and get
different narratives of the happenings than the current ones, that is
mostly the testimony of the police. For that we are looking for video
materials, photos and personal testimonies from people (journalists,
activists) who were present at the border on the 16th of September 2015.

We will organize a smaller demonstration in Budapest on the 28th of
October at Deák Square. At the same time demonstrations will take place
in Vienna, in Berlin and in Malmö. On the 3rd of November we plan to

*What can you do?*

x Contact us if you were on the border when the protest happened, and if
you could provide video materials or/and you'd be willing to give
testimony at the court! Contact people who were there! The deadline is
the day of the trial, that is the 28th of October 9:00, but the lawyer
wants to send the details before. He needs nothing else than the name
and address of the witness.

x Come to the demonstration to Budapest! After all the confusing
information about the trial we couldn't make a wider international call
to protest, but we really would like if you could join us on the 28th of
November. Write us if you can come!

x Organize solidarity demonstrations in your city, for example in front
of the Hungarian Embassy!

x Share the information to NGO's/groups etc.
