Damage Control

More signsThe election cycle has been a train wreck.  It has so divided the populace that the social contract has been ripped into shreds.  That contract still  binds only those who hold some form of civility as the most important clause.  Those are the ones least likely to cause a stink, the ones who trudge off everyday to work and  paying taxes but even those have become cynical about the grand ship of state when they view the way their living standards and that of their children has been sacrificed to the oligarchs of borderless globalism.  How much more they will accept is unknown.

But for the remainder of the population , they will adhere to their beliefs.  Some of which are well founded, others marginally so.

The media is forever tainted, and no one , not even those of us with a remembrance of reading "The Jungle" , by Upton Sinclair and learning its lessons will ever again trust the media to tell us the truth. The journalistic tradition of ferreting out the story in truth is gone.  Replaced by deceptive headlines and political posturing of the worst sort.  I do not think I will ever be able to watch NBC  in good conscience ever again.  They , the media have taken a severe hit , I suspect that they will never recover.

The FBI , dragged into the perilous waters that seemingly always surround the Clintons  comes up gasping for air.  The agencies own rank and file openly expressing distrust of their Director, who also reportedly has financial as well as political ambitions tied to the candidate.  The era of the Untouchables seemingly is gone.

The Democratic National Committee having shown its duplicitous and amoral approach to its work will forever after  be suspect by millennials , smart enough to know that they have been had and have bee used.  The DNC is banking on the bet that there are not too many of them that are that smart or who have any memory.  That is a bet against the odds, but not so much that they won't take it.

Pundits , like weathermen, have demonstrated that they have no greater knowledge or forecasting ability that the average person.  How they were wrong about Trumps ability to beat all Republican contenders amazed me.  The savagery with which they attacked amazed me.  They were not about seeking to be proven correct, so much as they were attempting to destroy the man who would prove them wrong and who would upset the power of politicians  and give it to the people. Journalist took leave of fairness and became operatives.  What a mess !

Even the churches got dragged into it,  normally they sit on the sidelines and let their people cast the ballot for whomever and whatever.  But this time they were shown to have been a danger to the so called progressive element, so they needed to be undermined.  I was shocked to see that the Democratic party  had plans to infiltrate and "turn" the churches..  Even with that Revelation , they remained silent, save for one mild mannered Bishop, who was incapable of  denouncing the attempt.
Ms. Palmieri stammered here way through the lamest explanation ever only to be saved by Podesta who was able to come up with an oily rationale.

Blacks, well it looks like they finally started to realize that they are an expendable commodity.  The would be Hispanic block of Democratic voters'  supplanting the urban African American voting block.  It is particularly telling for a group of hard pressed citizens to deal with the fact that they have been played for 50 years since LBJ's famous comments upon signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  It must be a particularly bitter pill to swallow for them, but the realization probably comes too late for they are about to be usurped completely by hoards of "Needy Latinos".

Our Election process has gone on for so long that it has taken on a life of its own, causing remarkably little effort to the nations business to be attended to. Simply put the politicians sit on their hands and do nothing except bandy offensive comments back and forth.

We have just spent 8 years treading water with one of the most arrogant administrations ever to sit in  the White House. The arrogance produced an amazing divisiveness with a growing visceral hatred being displayed.  I surely hope we do not have this for another term, but I feel that we will one way of the other.  There are no statesmen.  There are no healers, there are none who have the deftness to
bring about accord.
I wonder if we will be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
