Eida, Welcome.
Since yesterday afternoon, after information from Lesvos solidarity groups, NoBorders are beside a large family (father, pregnant mother and 4 underage children) that waits any time today their 7th member and they have been 5 years now beside a Syrian woman, Eida, whose official papers say an age that we still cannot believe. Even though it could be some kind of mistake due to the system back then or a wrong registration, although the papers are genuine, the year of birth is 1890 (!) and a recent article mentions her to be 115 (Read more:http://edition.cnn.com/…/115-year-old-syrian-ref…/index.html )
This woman travelled for a long time, assisted only by that family of 6, and after a push-back at the borders of Greece she waited for months (since 6th of September) at Moria camp in Lesvos, facing authorities’ usual indifference.
Indifference, instead of admiration and respect for the power of these people and their desire for life.
A few days ago they traveled from Lesvos to Athens. We are going to be next to them and we will cover all of their needs and update on our page. They are 7 people (and the birth of the 8th one hopefully will take place very soon).
For this reason, we ask for your financial support especially for this case (information via inbox) in order to enable us to provide support and a decent shelter for them, and give them them back the smile they offered us today.

When they left she didnt want to go and was taken care by a family in Kobane. When the family decided to go also Eida had no one anymore and decided to follow. After many adventures they arrived in Lesvos and stayed for 1 month in Moria Hotspot whithout any NGO organizing housing or care for the 126 year old lady. After they finally got their papers they travelled all together to Athens and went to a hotel . The acompaniing wife and mother of the 4 small kids is giving birth this days and the Noborders Athens group supports the family and asks for financial support to manage to house this unbelievable travel group. Again it is activists that manage to show respect to fleeing people. one of the oldest women in this world fleeing , we all have to support her now! https://www.facebook.com/nobordersnetwork/
