You're pretty incredible, Luc.
Without people like you, our campaigns just wouldn’t work. You and other All Out members around the world are the fire that fuels victories for love and equality.
Just take a look at some of your amazing victories from the past few months:
In July, over 2,500 All Out members donated enough to fund a week of Pride in Uganda. And when police violently raided a Pride Uganda beauty pageant, you continued to be there. After the raid, attendees were in desperate need of medical help and safe housing. In less than 24 hours, All Out members donated the $17,900 needed to cover those costs for victims of the raid – including one young man who was so afraid, he jumped out the 4th floor window. These brave activists continue to fight, and we’ll continue to stand with them in solidarity. The Pride parade was rescheduled for September 24, with unequivocal permission from the Uganda police. Stay tuned for how you can continue to show your support!
Xiaoyu Wang is a student at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China. When photos of her girlfriend proposing to her went viral, the university threatened to withhold her diploma, outed her to her parents, and had the police break into her apartment.
Over 75,000 All Out members demanded the university apologise. This support showed Xiaoyu Wang and other activists in China that they're not alone and helped bring international attention to their school’s homophobic treatment of students. A few weeks ago, an All Out member from Aruba reached out for help pressuring the Aruban Parliament to pass civil unions for same-sex couples. All Out members like you from around the world jumped into action.
With True Colors Aruba and other local partners, we delivered more than 50,000 signatures to members of Parliament. And it worked: late last week Parliament said YES to love and passed civil unions! And earlier TODAY, notorious homophobe, U.S. pastor Steven Anderson, was officially banned from entering South Africa, where he was planning to visit and spread messages of bigotry and hate.
The last few months show the power of our movement. All around the world, All Out members are having a real impact on the lives of lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people.
From all of us here on the All Out team – thanks for all you do,
Matt, Cole, Enrique, Igor, Kate, Leandro, Mathias, Pamela, Sarah, and Yuri
