WHO IS CHRIST TO ME?
In the Gospel we find Jesus asking two questions to his disciples: “Who do people say that I am?” and “Who do you say that I am?” He knew who he was. Therefore, Jesus asked the questions as a part of his ongoing revelation to his disciples. He wanted his disciples to know him and from where he came and why he had come. Jesus’ personal question needs a personal answer from the disciples. Even today Jesus asks us the same question: ‘who do you say that I am’. Today we celebrate the memorial of St. Pio of Pietrelcina popularly known as Padre Pio. This saint knew Jesus intimately and loved him passionately. For so many years we have been following Christ. Have we experienced Christ personally? Who is Christ to me?
Prayer: Lord, help me to know You closely so that I may believe in You. Amen.
