Schoolchildren shouldn't be child brides‏

Protect Refugee Schoolchildren from Becoming Child Brides
Dear friends,
What do you think most children in the world are doing right now?
Maybe they're headed off to school, or they're helping their parents with household chores. Or, if they're Syrian refugees living in Turkey, they could be preparing for early marriages.
Fariman is a refugee living in Turkey, and he's painfully aware that child marriage is a serious and growing problem among Syrian refugees. Will you sign his petition to stop these forced marriages?
Living in poverty and desperate to find ways to improve their young daughters' futures, parents sometimes see early marriage as the best way out. But marrying off young girls doesn't make their situations better. In fact, child brides are more likely to be subjected to rape, domestic violence, and heavy responsibilities that they are not prepared for – including early motherhood.
Child marriage isn't legal in Turkey, but religious judges and even local sheikhs have been known to authorize early or forced marriages anyway. The Turkish government must crack down on these marriages.
Fariman's petition urges the government to launch a public outreach campaign to educate refugee families about the dangers of child marriages. If you're ready to help protect young girls' futures, sign his petition now.
Thank you,
Miranda B.
