A LIFE WITHOUT GOD!
“Vanity of vanities, says the teacher, all is vanity” (Eccl 12: 8). What the author considers as vanity is a life lived without the fear of God. A life lived enjoying all the benefits we have without the care and concern for our neighbours - wherein one becomes blind to the needs of the other. But a life lived for God and his people, is much appreciated and meritorious. Jesus in today’s Gospel foretells his death. But the apostles do not understand this great mystery. Jesus loved his father so much that he was preparing himself to fulfil his will. And that is what we have to do; we have to try to know the will of God for us and try to fulfil it in our lives. Then our life will not be a life lived in vain.
Prayer: Dear Lord, bless us all and guide us so that we discern Your will for us and we may lead a life of virtue. Amen.
