An 8-month-old baby is fighting for her life after police say she was beaten by her mom.Mother Shavone Whitehead and boyfriend Edward Fair Wilson are charged with aggravated battery and cruelty to children after police say the two beat Whitehead’s daughter, Kamonie Love, to the point where she needs a ventilator to breathe, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Love had injuries to her legs, buttocks, chin and arms, the news station reported. She also had multiple rib fractures, a hemorrhage and a possible skull fracture.

Whitehead initially denied she hit Love, but according to documents obtained by Channel 2, she admitted to beating the baby on the legs and behind to punish her.
In a 911 call, Wilson can be heard telling police Love “made a loud gurgling noise and then when we went to check on her she’s not responsive.” Whitehead was doing CPR to try and save her, Wilson said.
Love was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital.
Damarrio McCoy, Love’s father, told Channel 2 he just wants his baby to live and lead a normal life.

“I want her to be able to do things like any other parent would,” McCoy said. “You wanna see your kid grow. I have all my wants, but I don’t know God’s will. I don’t know God’s will.”
