When you get good advice, take it.

I am going to give Donald Trump the best advice he will ever get.  STFU.

Now if would only follow it.  This man has a serious problem, he doesn't know how to think things
through before he snaps back.

So some time tested parental advice from the 1950s and 1960s is probably appropriate.

1.  Say you are sorry.
This one works wonders in most cases.  When you are wrong  you sometimes have to admit it as much as you might not like to.  For if you don't you will be branded as a sore loser, a spoled brat, a jackass or worse yet as a no good poopy head.  Donald you are on a fast track to poopy headedness with this row over the dead soldier's parents.  You look ridiculous, not a leader, not a winner.

2.  It is not all about you.
Very little of this election is about you, understand that and act  accordingly.  It is about ideals and ideas, both of which you have not yet demonstrated any familiarity with.  Lucky for you your competition  has no ideas that are worth following , nor has she any ideals at all.  Were it not for the lack of competition your candidacy would have tanked long ago. Realize that the people are not concerned about you.  The people are concerned about things like economy , security, immigration ,the deficit, the fact that workforce participation has reached a point where the world economy is under threat.  That is right, if too few Americans work, too few world workers work.
We need visionary leadership, not somebody who takes pot shots at the parents of a dead soldier.
Learn this lesson early.  This one is a  Mom lesson.  A brother who was on the tail end of 5 other brothers reminded me of it not long ago.  He was a little kid and tired of being the hand me down child, his striped polos had seen much better days by the time they reached him, he complained about his look to Mom, who very directly said :  Don't worry about what others think of you, they don't care about you anyway."   The young child went on to be a success as a father, husband, family man.  He told me it was the best advice he ever got.  So Donald understand it is not all about you.

3. Sticks and Stones
You are a jerk, live with it.  We are all jerks at times, every single one of us without fail will have a moment of jerkiness.  So when someone calls you a jerk, there may be some merit to the accusation.
But when someone calls you a name it is not an invite to go nuclear, it is not an invite for a tantrum or a hissy fit, it is an invite to sit and think about the basis for their feelings.  When you are called a nerd you might be, when you are called ugly you might be, when you are called fat, you might be.
Get over it, these things will not kill you, of course that is provided you are not some soft headed, hearted millennial brat child raised by helicopter parents.  Then you have a problem.

4.  Play nice.
Standard fare for any play ground, for if you don't there is someone always bigger, toughter, stronger who will kick your butt.  At least try to get along.

5.  Don't brag, because some of which you got , you got because you got a good start.  Guys like the Bush, the Romney, the Trump have a little problem understanding that , not everyone comes from privilege and not everyone has intellectual capacity, but don't begin to thing that makes you better, it just means you have it a little easier than others. Dignity is something that everyone deserves regardless of their station in life or there starting point.  You have had some great success as a builder
which is nice, but that does not translate into great success as a President, you are going to have to work at that.

Remember all you needed to know you should have learned in kindergarten.

The last bit of advice was given to me by my father, who was not prone to giving advice so much as he was prone to giving orders .  It must have followed from some transgression of my youth , probably of some importance--but the nature of that has been obliterated by time and convenient memory.  It was simple:  When the entire world, every last person in the world, save for you is headed in one direction, save for you.  Just stop and consider for a brief moment that you might be wrong and ought not to be headed that way.  When you have stopped and considered that every other person in the world, all those millions of people headed in one direction are not right and that you are, then you are free to go.  For there is that chance that you might be right as completely unlikely as that may seem.  Go and swim against the current if that is your considered feeling.

Donald, everyone is going that way, don't be a poopy head.
