Late August

Yesterday , for the first time in months the temperature dropped below 80 degrees.  The Air conditioners got shut off an the windows and doors were thrown open.  The temperature this morning was in the lower 60s.  Harbinger of fall.

I am sure that summer still has more than a few days of steam bath like atmosphere left before it is
just a memory.  Living in an area of shifting seasons is , in my mind, a big plus.  The change comes
ever so slowly, but before it does you get hints of things to come.  Crisp autumn air with clear blue skies and white clouds  followed the dense  humid weeks of oppressive heat of July and August.
Fall is coming and sometime in late November we will get  a blast of artic air to remind us of closure to yet another season.  And surely as spring follows winter there will be a day in March , where the sun actually warms the body and signals rebirth . Rebirth among the inhabitants of which we are included.

The birds have already  started to move south.  The bees are busy moving from flower to flower for time is short and the blossoms are waning.  Over the weekend I was able to get the shot of the butterfly on the petals, not the best shot, but one that will have to do until a better one comes along.
I was taken with its beauty and happy that I reacted to get even this shot.  I was also enlivened by the idea that beauty still can be found in a world where it seems increasingly difficult to see.

So I am not concerned with the change of the light and the temperature and the season for there is a certain beauty to be found in each succeeding season,  Hopefully we are mindful enough to seek it out and to not be dissuaded by the roughness and ugliness that sometimes seems to envelope us.
