both books contributed substantially to conservation biology and protection of biodiversity. 

These books are now on the shortlist of the most important and useful books on nature conservation. The Russian edition of the book is recommended to students that enter graduate school in Russia and to the researchers that are to get the Ph.D. degree on ecology;

(2) He authored - on the basis of his experimental work - another unique monograph on biological (toxic) effects of surfactants, which is among 100 world bestsellers in Toxicology;

which was the first book on this subject in the international scientific literature;
