Welcome To
The Pet Parade
Friday greetings pawesome pals
It's raining fur a change, if this carries on we'll be bringing the Ark out of the bunker! MOL
Seriously though, a few of the local villages have been flooded again, which seems to be rather commonplace the last few years since the local councils have allowed building on many of the previously protected 'wash land' areas aka flood plains [fields] and then they wunder why effurypurdy is getting flooded out - we have one wurd fur them: Dummies. But we really feel fur the peeps and their pets that are affected, again and again. So sad...
Luckily the P.A.'s wurk just missed being under water again by a gnats whisker, 3 times it's been under 2 foot of water and let me tell mew the clean up is horrendous, and before mew ask; no she can't move premises, her grandfather built it in 1924 so it's one of those things that when it happens, deal with it and move on...
In the summer of 2013 the little market town 2 miles up the road from Sleepy Hollow, was flooded so badly cars were floating down the streets and it took the P.A. 3 hours to battle through the floods to get to her wurk with dad [normally a 10 minute drive] and start pumping out the wurkshops again. That's why she bought the tank
aka an old Land Rover 90 pick-up, complete with snorkel, winch, tools on board and enough lights on the roof so it's like looking at the sun when they're all on! MOL
As she said and I quote, "I'm not having that again, if it floods we'll be ok, if we get snowed in, we'll be ok!"
I did offur her our tank, but she politely declined and said, "It's ok Basil, the tracks are too noisy on the road besides I've just put in an order for an ex-army AquaDuck if this climate change gets any worse!"

And before mew think the P.A. is a little nuts, well she is - but that aside, she grew up in a family business of trucks, truck spares and ex-military vehicles and many a vacation was spent travelling to various military bases around Europe on truck & vehicle buying adventures - great times and now mew know why I love all that stuff too!

"Ohhhh... now that is a nice bit of equipment." I said, looking at the picture and making a mental note to add one of these beasts to the collection in the bunker.
"They're amphibious, a true go anywhere mobile and I asked for the 8X8 version," the P.A. continued.
"Nice," I breathed wundering how much money Parsley had in his ISA account and doing the maths.
"Here's another little vehicle I'd like," she said. "It's an ex-army DAF 4X4 MT, nice huh?"
"Oh yeah, I seriously need one of those too!" I answered, pondering the possibilities of Parsley's bank accounts.

And that's what's been happening this week, rain, rain, rain and more rain, then the purrusal of many amazing go-anywhere vehicles to combat said weather conditions.
The P.A.'s most favourite is the Mercedes Unimog - see below - that has been on her 'to get' list fureffur. Effur since her older brother drove them both through monster sized snowdrifts in one many many years ago.
