Stop the Forced Sterilization of Transgender People in the EU! Sign Fabio's Petition Dear friends,  In many of the EU states - France, Belgium, Czech Republic, etc - before asking for legal recognition of a change of sex, a person is required to be sterilized. Please sign the petition asking that this awful, unnecessary law be removed. It’s disgraceful that transgender people are forced to choose between the integrity of their bodies and the right to have a legal recognition of their gender identity. There is no legal basis for this standard, and no medical reason why this should be done. It's simply a case of discrimination. Denmark and the Netherlands have already changed the legislation that required sterilization. If enough of us put pressure on other EU countries, we can get these laws changed throughout the region. Please sign this petition and join me and Care2 member Fabio P. in asking the European Commission to urge member countries to change legislation that still requires sterilization of transgender people.
