FEAR NOT!

We live in a world of uncertainties where we are oblivious of the subsequent happenings in our life. We are afraid of what is going to happen to us if we meet an accident, if we undergo financial loss, if there is a war or a riot and so on. With such thoughts ahead of us we usually tend to suspend our life on the hinges of fear and security; also putting down our hope in Jesus.

The fear as we see in the life of Isaiah is a consequent of the guilt and sin that we nurture in us. Responding to such situation Jesus strengthens us by saying, “Do not be afraid”, and gives us the courage needed to dis-join from the hinges of fear and security and to place our hope in the Divine Providence he offers us. God alone suffices our spiritual thirst always en-kindling in us a ray of hope to love and trust in him alone. Thus now with our hope genuinely embedded in God alone we receive the virtue of fortitude to face all the worldly challenges and to proclaim the Word of God to the world without any fear. This virtue of hope which reigns in us will make us like Christ himself and with a glad heart we will respond to him in the words: “Here I am, send me!” Let us then strive to acknowledge Christ to the world without any reservations and fear and pray that we may become worthy of what he has prepared for us in heaven.

Prayer: Lord take away my sin and my guilt; wiping out fear from my heart, fill it with your love, so that I may become Your worthy disciple. Amen.
