AN INVITATION YOU CANNOT IGNORE!

“There must be something more to life.” “The Lord must have some plan for me.” These statements are quite familiar to us since we hear it often from the people. These are statements of people who don’t appear to be happy with their lot in life. It is the statement of those who are searching for an answer to the meaning of their life.

Isaiah yearns for God in the night and looks forward to a time when all will come to life after the present oppression, which they deserve for their misdeeds. We all know that Jesus is the ultimate rest and consolation of humankind: Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Even today, as we read and reflect upon the gracious invitation of our Lord we are encouraged, comforted and assured that our faith is secure in him. Only in Jesus we have solution to all the problems. Even though the Christian life is not easy, it is possible. In fact it is pleasant. Our burden is light. The yoke of Christ is easy. Our Lord is gentle and lowly in heart and provides rest for our souls. Open your heart to Jesus. Walk every day yoked to the Lord in prayer and meet him in the Eucharist. Listen to his invitation. Why do you still wait?

Prayer: Lord, help us to be open to Your invitation and come close to You in prayer which will lead us to spiritual rest. Amen.
