The first years of the joint struggle against the wall had some gains that drew activists
to the struggle. However, for years the continuous joint struggle have much more gains,
but not on the ground for people to see with their eyes. Gradually both Palestinians and
Israeli activists dropped out with not so many to replace them. Still, on the weekly
demonstrations the participants - Israelis, internationals, and Palestinians are far from
any thought on quitting. We see the changes in the international arena. Taste of it is
brought to us by the international activists who keep coming. If the weekly demos reminded
activists the activity of Sisyphus of rolling a heavy rock uphill to the summit just to
have it down again, it is clear to any one who see the whole picture that the rolling of
the rock uphill again and again is decimating the hill and may be we are not so far from
the last rolling of the rock up the hill.

Bil'in

6-4-16 Friday demo. 9 Israelis with the anarchists against the wall and dozen
international activists joined the villagers and some guests. Just as we started to march
down the hill - still in the village, the Israeli state forces started to shoot us with
their long range tear gas canisters. Retreating a bit and malingering to evade the tear
gas we prevailed. After the end of the first encounter we started again to march and got
in response much more intense barrage of tear gas we prevailed it too - till the state
forces went away and we scored another victory.

22-4-16, 7 Israelis with the anarchists against the wall and 10 internationals - mostly
from Spain, joined the villagers in the 581st weekly demo against the occupation, the
settlers, and the wall. The Israeli state forces tried to disperse us but we only
retreated few hundred meters.
After their third intrusion the state forces went away and we declared another victory.

29-4-16 Friday demo. New army commander and new regulations. 10 Israelis, and about dozen
internationals joined the Bil'iners in the weekly demo. The Israeli state forces "allowed"
us to exit from the village and even to cross to the foot of the hill before they started
to shoot tear gas. As the northern wind was friendly some activists persist there all
along the demo while others retreated and advanced in response to the state forces
intrusions and retreats. After longer than usual the state forces went away and we
declared another victory.

29-4-16 In the West Bank village of Ni’lin, Israeli forces this week, unlike before, did
not invade the village before the start of the demonstration. The demonstrators therefore
marched up to the soldiers. Surprisingly – and in contrast to years of demonstrations,
Israeli forces last Friday did not target civilian homes with tear gas or use any other
means of supposedly ‘less-lethal’ ‘crowd-control’ weapons. Israeli forces did shoot some
tear gas, but not the amounts the villagers have become used to in the years of struggle
against the illegal apartheid wall separating them from the majority of their farming
land. The villagers are now hoping, that the collective punishment of the whole village,
the targeting of civilians and the use of excessive force has come to an end.

Nebi Saleh

8-4-16 Commemorating the battle of al-Qastel, Palestinians from the village of Nabi Saleh
confronted the Israeli army protesting the continued colonial violence and land
expropriations. Villagers commemorated the battle of al-Qastel of 1948, famous for the
steadfastness and heroism of Palestinian resistance fighters led by 'Abd al-Qader
al-Husseini against Zionist militias.

residents of Nabi Saleh confronted the occupying army, defying the army’s expropriation of
their water spring. The soldiers fired barrages of tear gas on demonstrators, including
the new and improved-range kind. No major injuries reported.

Deir Istiya

In Deir Istiya, near Nablus in northern occupied West Bank, farmers continued their Friday
protests started few weeks ago, against the closure of agricultural roads that are
essential for them to reach their land and thus ensure their own and their families
income. The protest, as during the last few weeks, started with a prayer close to the
settler road that cuts the farmers off from their land and prevents their access.

In 1982 the IDF proclaimed as state land some 100 dunums (dunum = 1000 sq.m.) belonging to
a Palestinian family of the village of Tafuh, west of Hebron, south of the settlement
Adora. In 2000 a quarry was established there by an Israeli company, Elyakim Ben Ari.

On March 23, 2016, bulldozers of the IDF cleared some 30 dunums, belonging to the same
family, to expand the quarry.

On Sunday, April 3, 2016 two shepherds from the Palestinian village Mnezel (situated in
the South Hebron Hills) – near the settlement Metsudat Yehuda crossed with their herd into
Israel (around Jinbeh). Green Patrol inspectors could not stand this horrible violation
and confiscated the herd – 150 sheep and goats were locked up in a sheepfold near Jericho.
Now the sum of NIS 17,000 is demanded of the shepherds in order to get back their herd.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2016, govt. agents escorted by police arrived and demolished
El-Araqib yet again.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, Israeli soldiers arrived at the Palestinian village Umm
El-Kheir, in the south Hebron hills region, near the expansion of the settlement Carmel,
and demolished six homes. 35 people were made homeless. The inhabitants are Bedouins, the
Hadlin family, of the Jahalin tribe. They purchased the land where they live in the 1950s
after being expelled from Israel.

On Wednesday, 06/04/16, government agents escorted by police, arrived and demolished a
home in El-Bat, near road 31, in front of Nevatim junction. In El-Sayyed, near Hura, they
demolished a wall under construction.

Don't say we did not know #498

For years now, inhabitants of the Palestinian village Ni'ilin have demonstrated against
the separation fence, with support of Israelis and peace activists from around the world.
The fence separated 2,500 dunums (dunum = 1000 sq.m.) of the village land from the village
itself, leaving the land on the western side.
During the demonstration that took place on Friday, April 8, 2016, the demonstrators
reached soldiers standing in the fields of the village. The demonstrators argued with the
soldiers. The soldiers declared the area a closed military zone. The demonstrators
retreated into the village. The soldiers began firing tear gas and rubber coated bullets.
The gas grenades were fired into the village as collective punishment. For the last two
months they have extended their firing range.

Don't Say We Didn't Know 499

In November 2015, the Israeli army began to widen the road leading from Hares Junction
towards the settlements of Immanuel, Yakir and Nofim. The wider road will now block
passage (of five roads) to 20,000 dunams of farm lands belonging to the Palestinian
villagers of Deir Istiya. On Friday, April 15, 2016, the villagers held a peaceful
demonstration protesting the blockage of their access to their own lands. A settler
passing by stopped his vehicle and began shouting at the demonstrators. Soldiers arriving
on the spot protected him and fired tear-gas at the demonstrators. Four of them were taken
to hospital and seven treated on site.
****
On Tuesday (April 19), government agents escorted by police demolished yet again the Negev
Bedouin village of Al Arakib.

Don't say we did not know #500

In the beginning of October 2015, an Israeli army force entered the village of Beit Umar,
south of Bethlehem. In the turmoil caused by the army's entry, Ibrahim 'Awwad was shot in
his head. Ibrahim was a father of two, with a pregnant wife. He died a few days later.
In the early morning of Monday, April 25, 2016, Israeli soldiers entered the home of
Ibrahim's parents, and searched the place. A female soldier demanded Ibrahim's mother to
strip, twice. The soldiers wreaked havoc in the house and took a large quantity of money
and jewellery (3000 NIS and 150 Jordanian Dinars).

social movements in the audience here - although keep nosy next door neighbor if the flag

March 30, 1946, an attack on a police station marks the beginning of a civil war between
forces from the anti-Nazi resistance, grouped around the Greek Communist Party (KKE) and
government troops controlled by the right ( a block of fascists, royalists and bourgeois),
allied with Britain and the United States. More than three years later, at dawn on August
30, 1949, falls Hill Kamenik who was the last bastion of the Democratic Army of Greece
(DAG), military training ???. If the loss is definitely spend the country into the Western
bloc, this struggle remains a fundamental reference for the current Greek left. ---- On 28
October 1940 the Greek monarchy, under the influence of his English ally, rejects the
ultimatum of fascist Italy and goes to war. During this period, the "dictatorship" of
Prime Minister Metaxas, several Communist Party members mainly and small Trotskyist
groups, are imprisoned or exiled. Among them is the general secretary of KKE, Nikos
Zakhariadis who, from his cell in a letter dated 31 October 1940 invited the members of
the Communist Party and the Greek people to participate in the war of national liberation
- led by government Metaxas - against the Italian invasion. Greece resists the Italians
and stop the invasion, but it is not able to achieve the same thing when Germany attacked.

In April 1941, Greece was occupied by Nazi troops. The German occupation will dissolve all
dominant political institutions. The Greek government went to Egypt and no traditional
political group appears to favor the option of the conflict with the occupiers. In
September 1941, the KKE initiates the creation of the National Liberation Front (EAM),
which in turn in February 1942 creates armed resistance groups, called the Greek People's
Liberation Army (ELAS), under the command of Thanassis Klaras, better known under the
alias Aris Velouchiotis. The ASM is the largest organization of resistance in the country,
developing an action both political and military against the Nazi occupation.

Greece is finally released in October 1944. The race to succeed has already begun. In
early December 1944 a violent government crisis occurs: December 3, Athens, during a
protest against the marginalization of EAM in politics, the police shoots, kills 21 people
and injures one hundred. The seven ministers of the EAM in the government resign. Fights
start between Elas and the English, who landed in Athens in autumn, and especially hope to
get rid of the Communists. The English come out victorious. The Varkiza agreement in
February 1945 provides for the disarmament of Elas and pardons for political crimes
committed after December 3, 1944.

Immediately after disarmament begins the period of "white terror", where the fascist
elements, Germans collaborators and reactionaries persecute and murder of members and
supporters of EAM and the KKE. The government does not intervene to stop these terrorist
acts, which are ideological purges and political and sometimes reprisals by the families
of staff killed by Elas (usually members of the security battalions [ 1 ]) . The period of
the White Terror will open the way to civil war. While partisan groups spontaneously
leaving the cities to resume the maquis, the Communist Party finally chose the military
action to end the political stalemate, but also to protect the members and supporters of
the ASM. A policy statement also announced the selection of abstention for the elections
of 31 March 1946. On the eve of elections, the Communist partisans attacked a police
station in Litochoro Pieria in Macedonia. During the following three years of war, the
monarchist troops and fascist methods use a "dirty war" to deprive the ADG supports:
sweeps of the civilian population, deportation, murder, torture, etc.

Anarchists facing war KKE

Anarchist ideas were aired before all political and ideological currents of the nineteenth
century socialists in Greece. But anarchist groups set up at that time were not able to
last in time. The anarchists of the nineteenth and early twentieth part in some of the
first wildcat strikes, which sometimes lead to uprisings, such as that of minors in 1896
or that of Serifos in 1916. The leader of that rebellion was Kostas Speras the union,
which later led a group of independent trade unionists within the General Confederation of
Greek workers (GSEE) on a line that had a lot in common with the anarcho-syndicalists,
especially against the political action of workers. The group, which brought together some
anarchists fought to prevent addiction of GSEE vis-à-vis the Greek Socialist Workers
Party, which after some time in the 1920s, turned into the Communist Party. This minority
has been removed from the GSEE. It's the end of attempts to establish a real anarchist
pole within the workers' movement in Greece.

From the middle of this decade anarchist presence is completely eliminated in the country
and will not reappear until the 1970s, in the last years of the military dictatorship. It
will develop especially during the period of the new regime in 1974 [ 2 ]. The dominance
of the Communist Party and Stalinism from 1930 is complete on the labor movement and the
revolutionary movement in the country. The texts on anarchist resistance and civil war
following two axes: on one side a narrative that is clearly influenced by veteran Stinas
Agis, and the other a positive vision of the struggle of the popular fighters for what
they believed to be a better future.

Army Stalinist criminals ...

Stinas and small Trotskyist group, in which served for a time the philosopher Cornelius
Castoriadis before fleeing to France, represented the period of Nazi occupation according
to the Leninist model of "revolutionary defeatism" of the First World War. Transposed to
the Second World War, this perspective is German soldiers of the Third Reich workers, so
class brothers of local workers, who must together transform the war into a revolution
against capitalism. Stinas had the opportunity to develop his ideas in his book
EAM-ELAS-Opla [ 3 ], published in 1984. He criticized the national liberation
organizations, presented as Stalinist criminal organizations that kill innocent people for
no reason, apart the thirst for power. At the same time, he denounced the ASM as the main
responsible for the rescue of capitalism and the political system of domination. From his
perspective, ASM has saved the national unity and laid the foundations of a new national
development when there was no one to do it. Finally, it insists that ASM does not have a
social discourse but favors only national liberation, with a deeper goal of taking power
to transform Greece into a protectorate of the USSR, another imperialist power.

Much of the 1974 anarchist adopted this discourse, at least in part. In the book's
publication period, the first democratic government of Andreas Papandreou acknowledged
national resistance and granted a pension resistant to integrate citizens left in the
state and representative institutions after decades of exclusion. The anarchist movement
at the same time chose the global conflict with the political parties and the state, which
entailed stay beyond and outside of "national unity" manufactured. So national resistance
that inspired previous generations was nothing for anarchists of the 1980s, a matrix for
some veterans who will integrate insidiously left to representative democratic system and
heteronomy. Conflicts with members and supporters of the KKE and intolerance of the past
to the anti-authoritarian left incite hatred for the Communist Party, associated with this
story. At the same time, the brutality with which the KKE members attack anarchists and
autonomous, creates a compelling image of "criminal Stalinist". Finally, the anarchist
movement, very young, essentially derivative of May 68, ignores the previous generation of
anarchists in Greece, lost in the mists of time, and looks for historical roots and an
imagination that shapes history.

The movement therefore has partly adopted this narrative, which he nearest feels
ideologically, like any story that condemns the KKE, and has developed organic links with
the perpetrators, as Stinas or Giannis Tamtakos former Trotskyite activist who joined the
anarchist movement.

... Or popular resistance betrayed?

Unlike narrative, another approach considers national resistance as "popular resistance of
the poorest against foreign oppressors and local." This approach praises armed action of
the Greek rebels, making history, almost epic of liberation. At the same time, it
criticizes the leadership race that betrayed the honest struggle of people for a better
life by the KKE. The British, who wanted to totally eradicate EAM use the same criticisms
Stinas. For Churchill, the resistance of Elas were thieves and brutal murderers. On the
contrary, the criticism of the absolutist Communist Party leadership is not so much on his
"criminal action" as told Stinas but rather on its "criminal inaction". KKE's policy has
proven to be the best ally of the English and Greek bourgeoisie: the signatures of Lebanon
agreements [ 4 ], of Kazerta [ 5 ] and Varkiza [ 6 ] played a perfidious and destructive
role in the movement People in Greece, paving the way for the final defeat in the civil
war. The KKE has been accused of not wanting to give to the fight against the Germans a
class content, subversive, to maintain the balance with the local bourgeoisie and the
British. In other words, the KKE did not make the struggle for social liberation, but for
national liberation.

This second view has been formed and developed mainly in the anti-fascist culture of the
antiauthoritarian movement, which caters to a wider audience and while practicing violent
confrontation with neo-Nazis, to create a common imaginary origin, common action. We can
then associate anarchists in rebel National Resistance of EAM. The criteria to support the
action of the rebels are not ideological (which controls the fight or what kind of society
are we going to build?), But are pragmatic: the resistance is violent conflict "natural"
with the fascist invaders and their local partners. By the same argument justified the
civil war, which is seen as a way for EAM-ELAS fighters against terrorism paramilitary
groups. Their crimes are not comparable to the resistance. Finally the legitimacy to use
similar means to achieve through the revolutionary overthrow the claim of the fight that
took place in the 1940s.

National Cold War and Liberation

The establishment of several national liberation fronts with Marxist-Leninist deserves
special mention, not only because it presaged a new fragmentation of the world into nation
states, but also because it was decisive for the historical development the world
revolutionary movement. The attitude of the Communist Party, who had under his dominion
EAM and Elas, during the German-Italian occupation of the kingdom of Greece, is typical of
all Stalinist parties. The leaders of the Communist Party led the people of that era left
in a bloody struggle for the realization of "national independence", the restoration of
the nation-state, controlled by a dictatorship of the proletariat established and
protected by the Union Soviet. The ultimate goal was not reached, because Greece is now in
the camp of England, thus remaining outside the eastern bloc. We note here that this
aspect is reinforced by the argument that the ASM and the national liberation movements
are the last savior of the nation state, which defends Stinas but while avoiding the
verbal excesses enthusiasts Stinas, which reconciles the right. It is clear that these
issues are complex and that a closer analysis, he has to make, would be useful to better
understand the revolutionary movement.

We must act with determination and boldness ---- The approval of the labor reform bill
promoted by the government of the New Majority, concluded, as was to be expected in a work
plan legitimizing the dictatorship. ---- With more setbacks than progress (which stagger
under the shadow of the Constitutional Court), it proved to be a very graphic expression
of at least two key and complementary issue: the effect of an institutional, political and
ideological framework that blocks and restricts any transformation initiative by timid it;
and the increasingly scandalous claudication of the United Workers Central (CUT) its basic
mission of defending the rights of workers in Chile. ---- Because we agree that in labor,
at least, a trade union rights must increase, defend positions, conquests advance to
improve the quality of life and indeed give space for the development of the political
consciousness of our class. That political consciousness must identify critical points in
the system and combat, as they do now the French workers and a project to reform similar
characteristics. But this CUT does the opposite: delivery, back, demobilize and evicts.

It is true, we have no central organization to unify and fight. But this situation can not
stay longer if we want, so low, defend the rights we have left and not lose. We need a
democratic and transparent central fulfilling that role with urgency and decide to act,
placing a class policy , transforming the public agenda; bringing together the most
organized sectors and sheltering the least; articulating other social sectors and not
dividing.

It is legitimate distrust of the CUT, criticize and denounce it , but the matter must be
addressed with the urgency it deserves. Independent trade unions and leftist political
organizations have a responsibility here. It should end the diffuse and indefinite policy
of parallelism. Either from within the Central, disputing spaces and gaining hegemony, or
accumulating forces from outside , you need to trace a path of no return to the creation
of a single central . But really, without sectarianism or arrogance.

If workers want to move, form a political project that represents an alternative for our
peoples without entering the labyrinth of purely institutional dispute, must act with
determination and boldness . Let us debate these issues seriously, we have the strength
and energy to it.

For Socialism and Freedom!

Put up and Struggling!

As in last years, we were in Taksim Square against all prohibitions of state, all violence
of police and all efforts of capitalists. ---- This year, Turkish State has declarded that
it wouldn't have permitted the Taksim Square for Mayday Demonstrations (as in last years),
one week before Mayday. State has showed another place for the "celebration of Mayday".
This "demonstration space" became a discussion between the revolutionary organisations.
---- Although, there have been a "legal celebration for Mayday" in Bakırköy. The
revolutionary organisations were in Taksim Square. (In 1977, the bloody Mayday have been
occured in this square and this square is become a symbol of resistance.) ---- As DAF, we
were in the square from the early hours of 1st of May. 3 DAF member who are also member of
Construction Workers Union, were in the square with the pancard "Fight, street,
resistance; Long Live Mayday" at 08:30. They have achieved to get inside the square from
the building site which is near the square. They have been taken into custody by police.

At 10:00, DAF cortege was in Mecidiyeköy where the march to Taksim started in. We have
walked against the prohibition of the state with our pancard "To Anarchist Revolution With
Action". We kept walking with the Construction Workers Union against the restrictions of
capitalists. The polices of the state tried to block the march wiht teargas, plastic
bulets and violence... 3 comrades have been taken into custody brutally by police.

We haven't participate the "Mayday celebration of the state", and we won't.

They won't frustrate us from our struggle. We will keep on struggling against state and
capitalists.

To Anarchist Revolution With Action- DAF
