Our First Lilacs

My family grew up in New England in a town flooded with lilac bushes, in fact it's where Louisa May Alcott was inspired to write Under the Lilacs. Pretty much all of my relatives have had gorgeous lilacs including my parents, my grandparent's and even Jason, and although I have been able to cut many a branch from their yards I have always dreamed of being able to cut lilacs from my own yard. Well, this spring I finally was able to cut my own. I don't have a ton of them this year but enough for me to get excited about and to use in a couple spots around the house. I don't have much for pictures tonight but just thought I would share my first lilacs soaking in the sink. I hope you all have a fabulous spring evening! (There's a detailed source list if you scroll down).
