DW: Fighting erupts on Nagorno-Karabakh front lines
Armenian and Azerbaijani forces have clashed along the front lines of the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh region. Both sides have reported numerous casualties, while trading blame for the renewed fighting.
Officials from Armenia and Azerbaijan on Saturday both accused each other of violating a cease-fire after fighting broke out on the front lines of the rebel Nagorno-Karabakh region, which lies inside Azerbaijan, but is under the control of ethnic Armenians.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said Azerbaijan used warplanes, tanks and artillery in a bid to penetrate into Nagorno-Karabakh, adding that "Azerbaijani authorities bear all responsibility for the unprecedentedly supercharged situation."
