Rome Commissioner Francesco Paolo Tronca has approved a six-million-euro preliminary project to complete restoration work at the Mausoleum of Augustus, the City of Rome said Wednesday.

Funding will serve to finish structural work on the monumental tomb built in 28 BC for Rome's first emperor, including covering it, building a circular catwalk around it, and preparing it to open for public visits.
