German security guards are raping refugee women. It has to stop.‏

Protect women from being raped in German refugee camps! Sign My Petition Dear friends "They wait in a group for the women going to the toilet on the outskirts of the camp; they intercept them, and they rape them while other people in the group watch." This is what women living in a German refugee camp wrote in an open letter to the German government. According to the letter, a group of nine security guards regularly photograph and film women while they breastfeed, take showers, and sleep. Women and girls are afraid to go to the bathroom alone because that is where many have been raped by the guards. When I read about the horrors these women and girls have been experiencing at the hands of men hired to protect them, I couldn't sit by and do nothing. Please sign my Care2 petition urging the German government to increase their oversight of refugee camps and protect women and girls from rape. These women have escaped terror in their home countries, but instead of finding peace in Germany, they are experiencing terror of another kind. The guards allegedly keep the attack victims quiet by threatening to kick them out of the camp or tell their husbands. The open letter was the first time that Cologne police claim they have heard anything about abuse in the refugee camp. As soon as they found out, they started investigating the allegations and have opened at least two cases. But if this was happening undetected right under their nose,who's to say that it isn't happening in other camps, as well? The security company is claiming they know nothing about the allegations, and say they will use "every legal means to disprove the accusations." Obviously the system put in place to protect the refugees coming into Germany is broken. The government must play a larger role. Women and girl refugees are some of the most vulnerable people in the world. More must be done to protect them from rape. So please sign my petition demanding that the German government take action to ensure other refugee women and girls don't fall into the hands of predators. The more of us speak out, the more likely it is that the German government will increase their oversight of the camps.
