So the continuing phone saga. No one showed up.
I called, I went through the electroninc call processor for the umpteenth time. At a cettain point when you say I want to speak with an agent, you are routed out of the electronic call center to an actual live person.
I did this twice yesterday. The first guy told me to un plug all the phones in the house , from power and from jacks. After telling me that their records from January 31st showed everything was resolved.
January 31st, I have been screwing around with this for that long ?
So when I got home from work, it immediately set about unplugging all phones, waiting the appropriate 5 minutes times two and re plugging the phone. No change.
So I called back and again went to the speak to the agent , was told that they had no repair ticket on my phone , impossible said I, he said let me check further, Oh we show this resolved today we show a line re=set. The line re-set was me unplugging after work I tell him and no it is not resolved.
What happened to the guy that was supposed to come this morning ? I asked.
What is you ticket number? He replied
I have no ticket number, said I ,
Oh, without the ticket number I can't help you, he parried
They don't give you a ticket number, I thrust
You should have a ticket number, he scolded
The electronic answering service doesn't give ticket numbers I challenged.
You are right, he admitted and then admitting his defeat went on to tell me that the electronic system often fails to record appointment times so that the service personnel are never alerted to the call. He then went on to tell me that people then go back and repeat the process as they are unaware of the Speak to an Agent tool.
It is a brave new world. The repair guy will show up Thursday between 9 and noon, my fingers are crossed just like my wires.
