This time it is the phone company.
Our phone line at home has been off for about a month, personally, I have not missed it . I have called the phone company and they ran a line test and the phone came back on, then it went off again.
So my wife has been after me to get the phone fixed. Ok , she wants the landline, no one else does , apparently including the phone company.
But I called Verizon on Thursday and they gave me the first available appointment for today, Monday 2/22/16 between 9AM and Noon, they would be there.
I stayed home waiting on the guy , I could not pass it off to my son as he had to go to school.
Well it is now Noon and , yup you guessed it the phone company did not show.
But of interest is that I had done all of the other things that they tell you to do:
Take a screw driver, go out side to the phone box with a spare phone in hand and plug your pone into the phone jacks in the box. If you don't get a dialtone , chances are pretty good that the problem is in our lines. PS what ever you do don't do this while it is raining , snowing, the ground is wet otherwise you might just fry yourself. Is the ground ever not wet in the winter time ? If you do not feel comfortable doing this we will sent a technician---sometime next week, say on Monday between 9am AND NOON, IF YOU ARE LUCKY.
I think it is time to give up the landline.
Next up subscriber TV, I mean it is not at all entertaining...................
