It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (Feb. 1, 2016)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Other Than Reading...

This week was wonderfully normal after last week's car adventures. I got a chance to meet my new classes and we are already into our routines. The kindergartners are really cute and enthusiastic. And my sixth graders have really matured a lot since I saw them last a year ago. This should be a fun semester!

A friend stopped over on Saturday and we had a mini-marathon watching the start of season 2 of Bitten. Four episodes seen and six more to go. I doubt I'll be caught up before season 3 premiers on February 15. Since they are going to be showing at 10 on a Monday night, I won't be watching them when they first air. That's too late for me to stay up on a school night.

Our weather remains unseasonable for winter in Minnesota. It was raining when my friend left on Saturday evening. Rain at the end of January! The temperatures are warmer than usual and the snowfall total much less then usual. Both of those things are quite all right with me. They are talking about a possibility of some measurable snow next Tuesday but lots can happen before that.

I've got a busier than normal week coming up with a meeting after school on Wednesday and a morning of medical tests on Thursday. I hope the weather remains good and that I can fit in some reading time while waiting for my tests.

Read Last Week
A Voice from the Field by Neal Griffin was an intense thriller with a very determined heroine. I enjoyed this one very much. My review will be posted on February 11.

Just This Night by Mari Madison was a very nice romance. I liked the main characters and thought the complications hindering their romance were realistic. My review will be posted on February 27 making this my last review of the month. All reviews are written and scheduled for February.

Currently
The Skeleton Garden by Marty Wingate is a cozy mystery I got for review from NetGalley. It will be released on March 15.

Next Week

Dragon Harper by Todd McCaffrey and Anne McCaffrey has been on TBR mountain since May 8, 2008. I'm pretty sure this will be the first one I'll read this year of those books I've had since 2008. My goal is that there will be no unread 2008 arrivals at the end of the year. There are 98 books there now.

Tumbled Graves by Brenda Chapman is a mystery from my review stack. It will be released on March 22, I think. This one has had its release date changed a couple of times already.

These might get pushed back because a couple of highly anticipated books will be downloading to my Kindle on Tuesday.

The Hummingbird Wizard by Meredith Blevins was a Kindle Daily Deal that sounded too good to pass up.

Boundary Lines by Melissa F. Olson was also a Kindle Deal. It is the sequel to a book I read and enjoyed last year.

New Review Books:
Silence by Mercedes Lackey and Cody Martin is a new entry into the Serrated Edge urban fantasy series. I read some of this series years ago. It will be released on April 5. I got it from Edelweiss.

'Til Death Do Us Part by Amanda Quick is her latest in her historical mystery/romance series. I got this one from NetGalley. I have read everything this author has written under all her pseudonyms. The book will be released on April 19.

My 2016 new books total 43. Twenty-four are review books; 14 are YA books; and 35 are still unread.
