Best friends,
This month is All Out's five year anniversary. And these past five years would mean nothing without the passion and commitment of members like you.
Time and time again, All Out members jump into action to help change the world. From relocating dozens of gay and transgender refugees, to shutting down gay "cure" clinics around the world, All Out members are a force to be reckoned with. A powerful force of love.
But our work is hardly done. In the past few weeks alone, we've rallied behind Amiri and Marwan – two people facing incredible, life-threatening obstacles, simply because of who they are and who they love.
Amiri was forced to leave his home in Tanzania – where it's illegal to be gay – when his father threatened to kill him. Seeking asylum in Switzerland, authorities are trying to send him back to imminent danger in his country.
Meanwhile, many miles away, 22-year-old student Marwan awaits a possible one year jail sentence after being arrested and tortured in Tunisia, just for being gay.
It's easy to do. Just follow these simple steps:
- Pick a goal. You can give up a few holiday gifts and try to raise $250 instead. Or honour the life of someone special, raising $500 in their name. You can do whatever you want – promise to run a marathon in the new year, if your friends help you raise $1000.
- Tell your story. In a few paragraphs, write about why it's so important to you to fight for people like Amiri and Marwan.
- Get the word out. Share your personal fundraiser on Facebook and Twitter. Email your closest friends and ask them to help you reach your goal.
Nearly 100% of the money you raise will go straight towards our campaigns for people like Amiri and Marwan.
Thanks for going All Out,
Leandro and the rest of the All Out team.
