The University of Massachusetts Medical School plans to sequence genomes of volunteered dogs using saliva samples.
Besides the saliva sample, owners will also be asked to fill out surveys about their dogs' personalities, diets and behavior.
All types of dogs are accepted.
The goal is to find genetic changes that correlate with certain behaviors.
The resulting information might help figure out how brains work and the relationship between genetics and brain disorders.
