What could be more innocent than the end of year celebrations and gifts placed under the
tree or offered from hand to hand? Yet if there is no big bearded philanthropist who live
in the wilds of north pole and would distribute gifts, the myth of Santa Claus tends to
invisibility of workers behind the goods. Moreover, toys and gifts are not socially
neutral. an example with this article, or this is to question in these times of excessive
consumption on the impact that gifts and toys can have on the socialization of children,
including the construction of models and styles. ---- Capitalist and patriarchal
domination established its power in a categorization of individuals that conditions at a
predetermined behavior. The model of the standardized family-which is often far from the
family is normally that of a heterosexual couple with children where the mother, even if
she won her right to work, must ensure gently on the fire and where father must firmly
hold the role of authority. And if this may seem prehistoric stereotypical family to some
(and much better), the fact remains that it is still registered, more or less consciously,
as an integrated reference social behavior. Construction sexist, homophobic and racist,
this family and social scheme is built from childhood through the toys and standardized
behaviors which we refer children ...

Girls play with dolls ...
So the little girl is always returned to its future role of mother and housewife, no
question for her to drive a race car or conquer space! It is preferable that it is working
now to become pretty, gentle and disciplined. What better while its sphere of play is that
of the fire. And here, manufacturers are redoubling their ideas for the joys of the iron
and the vacuum cleaner. She will learn to properly care for a child with the full
paraphernalia of a little mother, she will learn to take a house by concocting delicious
dishes in a modern kitchen sometimes more than mom and she will learn to stay discreet and
especially nice to meet Prince Charming who will make her a "woman" by identifying such a
well-known fashion doll with implausible proportions and superficial concerns.
... Boys with toy soldiers!
But if sexism against the girl child seems very obvious it is nevertheless exerted on
little boys. The young man in the making has to build his manhood and authority. It will
teach militarism and violence. All these objects yet you certainly abhor "for real" often
find themselves miniaturized under the tree: firearms, exterminators robots or even scenes
of war between cowboys and Indians played innocently in small famous figurines. No place
to feelings, much less to mothering a plastic infant, he must conquer the world to become
a great surgeon, police officer or any Nobel Prize. Even in play areas the ratio
dominating / dominated arises. The little girl is confined inside when the little boy
should romp outdoors and explore the universe. And these spaces are so well integrated by
children that if you look a playground you will notice how space is distributed unevenly,
football takes place when all the hopscotch is done in a corner ...
Jessica C cc
Of toys not so innocent it
Thus a construction of gender, behavior and socio-professional determinations that is from
childhood through the toys but also through the standard to which the reactions of the
adults bringing children. Indeed, why a little boy could not love pink, fashion or
cooking? And if there are "tomboys" ie girls emancipated their Women, the term "missed
girl" meanwhile does not exist, it is preferred that of "fag" ... But the toys are also
used to instill in softness in the market values our children and learn from an early age
to be good consumers. Thus teach them to always prefer new toys, mostly plastic and
manufactured by other children in China and Southeast Asia! Play differently?
To fight against sexism, homophobia, racism and consumerism that hide in toys, first
trying not to lock our children in frames which we reproduce without us realizing it.
Foster their capacity for creativity and imagination: nothing prevents our children to
make their own toys, or with the help of their parents. Encourage other consumption
patterns (trade, barter, used) and other forms of gambling (which are based on solidarity
and mutual support rather than competition and domination). So in this end of year play
differently and liberate us sexism!

Anarchist prisoner Osman Evcan resisted and won his fight again! ---- Osman Evcan and
Hasan Çınar gained the victory from the determined struggle which they put their lives
against the state inside the thick walls of prison which they are enclosed. Osman and
Hasan, got what they demanded through this hard period. Osman Evcan ended his indefinite
hunger strike which took 39 days against intimidation and extermination politics against
prisoners in prison and again he proved us that how he is right about his call to raise
struggle. ---- We celebrate Osman Evcan who has proved that the thick walls that are built
in order to revitalize the new “terrorist” wave that the Turkish state needed and the
legitimize further operations cannot obstacle anarchists at all. The “punishment” system
and their officials that made comrade Osman Evcan suffer hunger for 39 days and tortured
him are our enemies. The recognized demands of Osman Evcan and Hasan Çınar are not matter
of grace, instead that is the end of torturous practices. Torture is the state policy. We
are grateful to everyone who have held demonstrations, spoken up, and support for Osman
Evcan’s cause. Osman Evcan is now trying to get over the adverse effects of the hunger
strike process, and his present health condition is fine. We will share the message from
Osman Evcan and Hasan Çınar soon.

On 19 September 1900, in the name of anti-anarchist in 1894, the French government
prohibits the international conference convened in Paris unparliamentary. Without knowing
it, led the coup thanks to a strategy of rapprochement between anarchism and the European
socialist left, it began seven years ago. A strange prelude to the emergence of
revolutionary syndicalism. ---- In September 1900, while Paris is the capital of the
bourgeois world and the international labor movement. The World Expo will attract 50
million visitors and, taking advantage of the event, the CGT and the Federation of work
grants (Fédération des bourses du travail) announced that they would each held their
national convention and an international congress on this date in Paris. The Second
International has also chosen 1900 to hold a congress in Paris and the picture is complete
with the anarchists that, for the time since 1889, we will organize international
conferences. Of the latter, especially the History remembers that had been banned by the
French government, and that the delegates came to dozens were missing.
In fact, you should know that these meetings had to be the culmination of a strategy of
convergence between anarchism and the left of socialism that began seven years ago, and
they had to give birth to an international anti-authoritarian socialist opposed to the
Second International. The episode, however, was not to remain without a future. In France,
was the prelude to the emergence of revolutionary syndicalism.
Zurich 1893 rebellion in socialism
The idea of a possible consolidation between anarchism and the socialist left is her
starting point in approaching observed the International Socialist Congress in Zurich in
August 1893. At the time, the Second International is still relatively heterogeneous, and
it not yet fully aligned with the powerful German Social Democracy. Delegations, we find
the whole range of socialism, the most moderate to the most radical, embodied by the
anarchists. Now, during this conference, the German delegation scandal expelling from the
hall the "independent" of Gustav Landauer, a fraction German dissident who rejects
parliamentarism and reformism. Outraged by this act of intolerance, about 50 delegates of
500 solidarized with the excluded leaving the room. Among them, the Frenchman Jean
Allemane. This is the old Communard brings word of what was then the leading French
socialist organization, the Revolutionary Socialist Workers Party (POSR), which has strong
anti-parliamentarian trends, even if they participate in the elections for propaganda. The
allemanisti, who abhor integration into republican institutions, seek seek to place the
anti-capitalist struggle in the hands of the same men and women workers. They are
therefore a primary tool of trade unionism and promote the general strike. This is opposed
to the French followers of German Social Democracy: the "Guesdists" militants, militants
of the French Workers Party (POF) by Jules Guesde. This question of the general strike is
not anecdotal: in the 90s of the nineteenth century, is the bone of contention of
socialism, at least in France. Affects two competing visions: one in which the
emancipation of the workers is entrusted to the state and the politicians; the other in
which it is entrusted to the direct intervention of the workers themselves [1].
Starting from August 11, the dissidents of the Zurich Congress held separate sessions in
the hall of Plattengarten. They gather together anarchists English, Italian or French
(Fernand Pelloutier), the majority of Dutch socialists (with Domela Nieuwenhuis and
Christian Cornelissen), but also of the French socialists trend unparliamentary, as Jean
Allemane. It is to Plattengarten that Domela Nieuwenhuis formula for the first time that
"the fusion of all the revolutionary elements can" [2].
The idea of a merger with anarchists
This assembly to Plattengarten, which will sometimes regarded as "the first international
anarchist congress" [3], will stimulate the imagination of some militants including
Bernard Lazare. Some days after Zurich, this militant French appeals La Revue anarchiste
[4], for the establishment of a "great international revolutionary party unparliamentary
and anti-state" where they would join the one hand the Socialists antiparliamentarian
German, Dutch, French and English that were detected in Zurich, and on the other
anarchists French, Spaniards, Americans, Italians and Jews of England. The idea seduces
Independent Germans and the Dutch. Lazare also began to write, together with Italian
anarchist Malatesta, an appeal to the constitution of this "Large international party"
[5], but the project is not realized because of the wave of repression due to
"ravacholite", forcing the militants to take refuge abroad [6].
In France, this convergence between allemanisti and anarchists in spite of everything will
make progress, moving from the political to the ground union.
In Nantes, in September 1894, it has in fact held a conference unit that brings together
the work strokes and federations of trade unions. The Federation of bags, Fernand
Pelloutier think you can use the antiguesdismo on the rise in trade union circles to
eliminate the political, the aim would be out of reach - but trade unionism. The Congress
of Nantes in fact ends with their complete defeat: the aim of the general strike is
proclaimed and Guesdists, disappointed, leaving the room in droves. Soon, the conference
program for the following year, the foundation of a new workers' training. Independent of
any political party will Confédération Générale du Travail (General Confederation of
Labour), (CGT).
A few months later, Fernand Pelloutier reveals its strategic vision in the weekly
anarchist Les Temps nouveaux. For him, socialism is on the eve of a general redistribution
that will highlight two fields: one is socialism anti-authoritarian (anarchist,
allemanisti, trade unionists), on the other, the authoritarian socialism (Guesdists,
reformists, Blanquists, " independence "type Jaures, Millerand, Viviani ...) [7]. In the
meantime, you can push the advantage obtained at the Congress of Nantes, and lead to an
international divorce between the parliamentary socialism and trade unionism.
London 1896 social democracy overwhelmed
This new battle will be unleashed to the International Socialist Congress in London in
August 1896. The lesson of Zurich has been assimilated: this time the anarchists,
allemanisti and their international partners will put up a real political operation.
In the months preceding the conference in London, a true "race to the mandates" breaks out
between anarchists and allemanisti one hand and on the other the Guesdists and Blanquists.
For each field, it is radunarne as possible to have a majority within the French
delegation in London. But since anarchists are proscribed by the Second International from
Zurich, the twenty libertarian activists who will go to London will be covered by the
mandates of unions supporting the general strike and even sections of POSR.
This series of devices with the mandates may seem petty. But it is paltry compared to the
maneuvers of Guesdists and the German Social Democrats and English.
Because once in London, that the French delegation is - for two terms! - Composed mostly
of allemanisti and anarchists will cause a real psychodrama that almost paralyze the
Congress ... to expel the anarchists, the Social Democrats will be forced to eject, by the
same movement, the unions, giving full satisfaction to Pelloutier Fernand and his friends
. Exasperated by this sectarianism, one of the delegates will go to great lengths
socialists alongside the libertarians in meetings and conferences held in parallel with
the anti-parliamentarian conference. The Socialist International is divided, the
anti-authoritarian pole looms. Anarchists have therefore taken the best they could be a
minority situation: paralyzed social democracy mired in its sectarianism; They have
accentuated the separation between parliamentary socialism and trade unionism; They have
made common cause with the left of European Socialists.
Exhaustion of a strategy
The next stage will be decisive. After Zurich, London and Nantes, who were Congress of
delimitation, it is to present to found an international unparliamentary collecting
anarchists and left socialists. During the fall of 1898, the Dutch Domela Nieuwenhuis,
Emile Pouget and Fernand Pelloutier jointly signed an appeal to conduct a conference in
September 1900 [8]. And since March 1899, Emile Pouget, in Le Journal du peuple - a daily
Dreyfusard libertarian - does the public promotion of the congress is to undermine the
claim of "parliamentary socialists to pose as spokesmen of the world socialist movement" [9].
However, in the interval of four years separates London from Paris, the strategy of
rapprochement between anarchists and socialists anti-parliamentarian, who had been so
fruitful between 1893 and 1896, will run out. Finally, the prohibition of the Congress of
1900 will only bring him the coup de grace. What are the reasons?
The ideological doctrine first: the current anarchist communist and socialist
revolutionary have been unable to agree on a theoretical level, despite efforts to produce
a draft common with Bernard Lazare, Malaesta, Cornelissen et Merlin [10]. Anarchists and
socialists antiparliamentarian not therefore come to make a synthesis programmatic beyond
their rejection of social democracy. First difficulty.
Second difficulty: the small group of militants united who orchestrated this strategy
since 1893 breaks: Merlin aligns all'elettoralismo, followed soon by Bernard Lazare; Hamon
is attacked by Jean Grave for his anti-Semitism; Fernand Pelloutier is increasingly ill
and can not effectively accommodate Pouget in the organization of the congress.
The third difficulty - and main - lies in the absorption of the anti-parliamentarian
European socialist currents. In the Netherlands and Germany, they break up and let that
fraction sharply past anarchism. In Britain, it is the evolution of a revolutionary and
unparliamentary part of socialism and trade-union that did not take place. In France, the
POSR started the day after the Congress of London, a real decline, torn between a strategy
of the general strike that brought the allemanisti to play a leading role in trade
unionism, and a practice that is not the election that has occasioned disappointments.
Balkanized, the POSR held in September 1897, its last congress. In 1900, Allemane, feeling
obliged to save what is left of his party, it turns towards unity rather than toward
socialist anarchism. The POSR claims to shape the international congress unparliamentary,
but he does not participate from afar.
Paris 1900: failure and posterity
Regardless, the Congress unparliamentary benefits from an undeniable infatuation: 58
contributions (212 pages) are drawn from 10 countries. Since the early months of
preparation, Christian Cornelissen delivered a text that seeks to create "lasting
agreement between the anarchist groups and communist revolutionaries." The eve of the
opening, there are in Paris delegates from 12 countries, something never seen in the
international libertarian movement. But at the last moment, the French state prohibits
Congress. The organizers are trying to find at the last minute of the open rooms, but all
are blocked by police. Only a small group of delegates can come together to discuss the
creation of an "international understanding" [11] ... which will remain a dead letter. And
everyone has to return to his home, empty-handed.
In September 1900, it has thus ended with an attempt to create an international
anti-authoritarian alternative to the Second International. The wind has changed. It must
evolve a strategy, move the subject. Too bad for the pole socialist anti-authoritarian. So
much the worse for POSR dying, what is the value of allemanisti - their faith in the
working and trade union, their general strike - will survive in their CGT. Anarchists take
their importance as the driving force of trade unionism. This episode of rapprochement
will not therefore been unproductive for the labor movement.
The "big party" unparliamentary International will not see the light. But in France, the
anarchists will attempt to do this role to the CGT. Syndicalism - or to borrow an
expression of Hubert Lagardelle, the "working-class socialism" - will then become the
alternative to state socialism.

The Anarchist Federation text published on the portal athens.indymedia.org during the
trial Thodoris Sipsas, accused by the case of fire at the Marfin bank during the
demonstration of May 5, 2010, where three people lost their lives. The text of the
original title in Greek is "Solidarity with the anarchist Thodoris Sipsas". ---- Five and
a half years ago, on May 5, 2010, a day of general strike, 500,000 people took to the
streets of Athens to protest the imminent approval of the first memo. The general strike
of May 5, 2010 was the culmination of a period of great mobilizations. Participation in
the strike was very wide and the demonstration was huge and clearly had aggressive
characteristics against the imposed policies. The mood, however, changed completely when
word got out about the death of three workers in Marfin bank in central Athens, due to the
fire of the bank building.
A few days before the first anniversary of these incidents, on April 29, 2011, four people
were arrested, suspected of being the authors of the fire. The mass disinformation media,
as always faithfully being the State's service, put in the spotlight the anarchist field
and they put in motion a witch hunt that would last a long time. And what is the evidence?
Some anonymous notes nomeavam some detainees, and photos of surveillance cameras, in
which, however, did not show any of these people! The prosecutor (who took over the case)
returned the case to the police, since no charges are documented.
Two years later, on May 5, 2013, without any new evidence is accused anarchist Thodoris
Sipsas. In his testimony is quoted: "From the records it is clearly demonstrated through
the witnesses certificates, photographs and videos from surveillance cameras, which have
nothing to do with any attack at any time that day in the center of Athens." He was left
in freedom under restrictive conditions.
On December 16, 2015, after a series of delays (which were not requested by our companion,
but by the state) will be held the trial of the case of the Marfin bank fire.
The fact that Thodoris Sipsas has no connection with any attack that day is shown by
certificates of two witnesses and the material of traffic cameras. The fact that Thodoris
Sipsas was not involved in the tragic incident of the Marfin bank fire for us is obvious
and evident. As anarchists, we do not agree nor practical nor logical that are directed
blindly against the oppressed layers of society. Our violence was addressed and will
continue to be directed against those who exploit and oppress our class, against the state
and the bosses. The persecution against Thodoris Sipsas identified over an assembly of the
State, as the massive disinformation media, in the service of his claims, recovered and
used the case of Marfin bank as they wanted, in order to assign antisocial and criminal
traits to anarchists, seeking our moral disrepute.
We are next to our companion to by all means, and call the fighting people to continue to
oppose by all means those who are working to suppress and control of the company. Those
who seek to build a totalitarian world of the oppressed, and those who believe that with
assemblies and witch hunts attain identify the social and class struggle with crime,
clearly answer: Criminals are the State and the Capital.
Social struggles and class can not be penalized. Criminals are the State and the Capital.
Solidarity with fellow Thodoris Sipsas being chased by the case of Marfin bank.
Informative events will be held by speakers in Athens, on December 12, and in Thessalonica
on 12 and 16 December. In Patras, on December 15, there will be a concentration of
solidarity. In Athens, on December 16, there will be a concentration on the outside of the
court at 9am during the trial.
