A six-millennia-old village which is five hectares in area has been identified by a team of archaeologists in the southern city of Marvdasht, in Fars Province, the Public Relations Office of the Research Center of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization reported Wednesday.
Fazllolah Habibi, who leads a team of archaeologists, said, “Following preliminary studies and creation of a topographic map, a site which is assumed to be a castle and the remnants of a mill dating back to the Seljuq era have also been discovered.”
