TurkmenGaz supervises $10 billion TAPI pipeline

Turkmenistan will start works on Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline this December. TurkmenGaz, the national gas company of Turkmenistan and largest gas company in Central Asia, will supervise $10 billion TAPI Project. Gas companies of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India established a Consortium that will build, own and operate the planned 1,800 kilometers TAPI pipeline.
TAPI pipeline will meet gas demand of the industry of the countries with the population of over 1.5 billion. The pipeline will export up to 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas a year from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India over 30 years.
Construction works expected to be completed in three years.
