The Middle East Can't Be "Won"

When many want war but only a small minority are willing to fight, the war is already lost. Something the Pentagon has been taught many times, but apparently never learned...

"Bin Laden wanted to lure the United States into Afghanistan, which was already being called the graveyard of empires. The usual object of terror is to draw one’s opponent into repressive blunders, and bin Laden caught America at a vulnerable and unfortunate moment in its history."
[Wright, Lawrence. The Looming Tower (Vintage) (p. 272)]

"Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama announced Thursday that U.S. forces will remain in Afghanistan at their current levels throughout much of 2016, yet another delay in their scheduled withdrawal and an acknowledgment that America's longest war won't be concluded on his watch."

There are those who create the reason for war, but never fight

And those who legislate the war, but never fight

The ones who profit from war, but never fight

Still others sell advertisements during war, but never fight

Another lampoons war, never of course fighting

Those who play armchair general but would never fight

Those who vote for war, but would never fight

Shameless cowards and ISIS bait, all.

And lastly those who fight, at horrific toll.

The "war" was never about winning in an immediate sense, it was about convincing the imperialists they could defeat "terra", and thereby convincing them to invade for years and decades until they reached bankruptcy, both human and financial. As Mao taught the Vietnamese during the 10,000 day war.

ISIS is playing the long game, while imperialists play the short bus game.

"There is always a generation at the very end that doesn't know anything or build anything, and instead blows it all sky high"
