With about 600 participants was held in Chania, Crete, the October 16 march against
borders (#no_borders) organized under the Anarchist Meeting of the Mediterranean , by the
anarchist campaign of international solidarity "Three Bridges". "Three Bridges", in
collaboration with the IFA-IAF (International of Anarchist Federations) has organized the
Anarchist Meeting of the Mediterranean from 9 to 18 October 2015 in cities across the
territory of the Greek State. ---- This meeting will have the character of a ten-day event
with activities, discussions and open actions, which were carried out in the cities where
collaborations with local groups, individual groups or local initiatives involved in the
campaign (Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Larissa , Chania, Heraklion, Rethymno). At the
same time thematic debates have been organized with the participation of colleagues who
are members of regional or national anarchist federations, regional individual anarchist
groups and / or individual partners, organization forms of anarcho-syndicalists,
anarchists or libertarians occupied spaces, e.tc. The culmination of the Anarchist Meeting
of the Mediterranean took place with events and three-day thematic debates held in Crete
from 16 to 18 October.
The march took place in the afternoon and toured much of the city of Chania, through many
neighborhoods of the city, and many streets, apart from the main streets. Its most
significant feature, however, was its multilingual character.Colleagues from Turkey,
Italy, Sweden and elsewhere, shouted slogans in Greek, Turkish, Italian, Swedish and
English, "abolishing" in practice borders. The petty Khania were puzzled to see this march
as quirky, and hearing shouted slogans in several languages. Some were upset and inciting
other children to greet the marchers.
