Info Centre Open in the Jungle Today
Today was the opening of an info centre in the jungle – a collaboration between CMS, help Calais and the Hummingbird Project.
The space has been set up to share information on things from asylum in the UK and elsewhere, to goings on in the jungle, to information on the history of struggle in Calais, to issues that go beyond Calais that affect travellers (such as deportations and mass arrests). It’s also a space where people living in the jungle and other groups can share information. On the weekends the space will also be used as a clinic. Already in day one there were numerous people dropping in.
[Its worth saying that this is not a space where people can give advice. We just share information.
