Festival: At Lorient, United cultures (fr, it, pt)[machine
translation]
For the sixth year, a street of the Lorient fishing port has been invested all day by
United are our cultures (USNC), "cultural and libertarian" festival initiated by the
collective La Mala Semilia, which works by self-management, without any subsidies. ----
It's a bunch of buddies who initiated the idea of a festival in the neighborhood of the
port of Lorient. In settling Florian Laporte street USNC also the question of the
re-occupation of urban space. There is still some time, the majority of the activity of
Keroman district depended on fishing. It has virtually disappeared, except for a few large
shipowners. Also remains the commercial port which is an important place of soybean oil
and landing (see box). The decline of the area has left large unoccupied spaces near the city.
These are first of graffiti and squatters who have invested the scene and artists looking
for cheap workshops. However, the area has remained on the sidelines. Some bars,
restaurants and hotels still seem to await the arrival of sailors lined.
Cultures "Alternative"
Graffiti has always occupied an important place in this space. This Sunday, May 24, more
than twenty graffiti[1] gave themselves appointment to repaint the walls (tens of linear
meters), with plenty of styles and colors.
Other artists had come to present their work, metal sculptures, drawings and installation
on the theme of cross between Latin and Arabic alphabets.
All afternoon, concerts and sound systems installed in the street, did mingle rock-garage,
Kurdish music, punk rock, ragga MC, hardtek / hardcore and African percussion. Beside, the
skaters association also proposed demonstrations.
By late afternoon, a projection-debate Mouton 2.0[2] gathered a few people to black
Location - Pollack[3]. The local organizations press tables were also essential to USNC.
The radical activist scenery was of course represented: AL group Lorient; antifascist
group of Quimperlé and Rennes; Quimper CNT; libertarian groups and local[4].
Kurdish struggles and Culture
Amnesty International, the Association France-Palestine Solidarité (AFPS), the radio
program Keep the Rage and the female roller-derby team The cod had also responded to the
invitation.
Es invited to hold a press table on their struggle, Kurdish activists have raised funds
for Heyva sor'a Kurdistan (Kurdistan Red Crescent) and proposed the snacks. Musicians
played on the outdoor stage and led visitors into Kurdish dances in the middle of the
street. "Great atmosphere! "As some of these activists and spectators, surprised by the
similarity to the An-Dro[5].
The collective La Mala Semilia is not omnipresent in the organization of the festival. It
is mainly responsible for the administrative part concert and part of the restoration. For
the rest, the different "poles" are organized independently of each other: Persons are
authorized for each of them and some meetings are enough to coordinate. The only sources
of funding are selling couscous, T-shirts "USNC" and entries for evening concerts. In
addition, a benefit concert this winter has enabled the holding of the 2015 edition.
The success of this edition is encouraging: the organization mode works well overall,
despite the extension of activities each year. The event has become an appointment
activist, linking artists and libertarians. It is also a place open for the public and
these organizations are diversifying more and more every year. Finally, everything went
without significant concern. The 160 entries for evening concerts will allow La Mala
Semilia consider an edition next year[6].
