Under virtuous outside the mission Roma municipality (PS) in Strasbourg employs
expeditious methods for dealing with families in distress ... and silence journalists who
investigate the situation. In solidarity, AL reproduced sued two articles. ---- Since
2004, Cabbage Leaf, independent media, is the voice of all social struggles, societal or
environmental. ---- Today, the cabbage leaf is deprived of votes. Alternative Libertaire
lend him his. ---- On July 10, 2015, its editor, Jean Claude Meyer, was indicted for
"making statements detrimental to the honor and reputation of Jean-Claude Bournez" Head of
Mission of the City Roma Strasbourg, for two articles published in December 2014,
describing how the municipality manages the situation of Roma in Strasbourg:
"Christmas in Strasbourg: the head of the mission Roma of the city demand the expulsion of
ten children, two infants are" (12 December 2014)
"A woman with nine children left to the street by the city of Strasbourg" (December 19, 2014)
Alternative Libertaire had already devoted an article to the special position against Roma
in Strasbourg: A "model camp" for invisibiliser Roma. AL Alsace participates in collective
support for the cabbage leaf, which is why we have reproduced below the two articles in
question.
CHRISTMAS IN STRASBOURG
Cabbage Leaf,
December 12, 2014
The head of the mission of the City Roma demand the expulsion of ten children, two infants
and two sick and disabled.
On 12 December 2014, the head of the mission Roma of the City of Strasbourg has asked
three poor families living in caravans on an isolated wasteland to leave immediately,
without explanation.
We remember that in December 2013 Cabbage Leaf had discovered a family of 6 including 4
children sleeping in their car at a parking lot in cold weather. The City had explained
that the family had "escaped the social services" ...
In 2014 novelty: the city itself, through the head of the Roma mission, which throws
families with children and babies in the street!!!
No neighbors on the horizon ...
The first family, a single woman with young children - including 2 infants - had found
refuge here two days earlier.
The second family, a couple with two children, was installed there for longer for serious
medical reasons. Indeed, the mother having been made a few months before intestinal cysts
must undergo regular examinations and post-surgical controls at the nearest hospital to
which she went on foot. An appointment was scheduled December 28, 2014 to determine a
possible cancerous lesion. The review will therefore not take place.
A third trailer home one disabled man.
The mother wanted to show us the scar from surgery to "prove that the poor are not liars ..."
Medical certificates and invitations for further investigations.
In this video, the men testify to the injustice of the situation, adding that the police
know their plight never asked them to leave, and that this decision was exclusively the
head of the mission of the City Roma, JC Bournez .
These people lived there quietly, without interfering or asking anyone, surviving in
caravans without water or electricity but demanding as only comfort than to be left in peace.

The same picture taken with the flash.
Again, after repeated threats and intimidation followed by a totally arbitrary decision by
the head of the Roma Mission, the City will leave in mid-winter, men, women and children
living in extreme poverty and having nowhere to do in dismay while at the same time,
millions of euros are spent for the Christmas market and the millennium of the cathedral!
Funny socialists who hunt the poor all year ...
Besides, have you noticed bums, homeless or destitute in the streets of the downtown in
recent weeks? No, of course, because "cleaning" was made before the opening of the
Christmas market - just as it was done before the summer tourist season - not hinder trade ...
A WOMAN AND 9 CHILDREN
LIVING IN 5M2,
LEFT IN THE STREET BY THE CITY
The cabbage leaf,
December 19, 2014
Only one caravan to house a wife and 9 infants.
In December 2014, The Cabbage Leaf discovered a wife and nine children in a tiny caravan
of 5 m2 on wasteland west of Strasbourg.
Rather than find a humane solution to this incredible location, order was given to the
family by the head of the mission Roma in Strasbourg to leave quickly. In the days that
followed, the caravan was moved to a more isolated place where the family is still left
entirely to itself.
Some quotes to refresh the memory:
"I do not feel ability to clear land without offering an alternative. "Roland Ries, Mayor
of Strasbourg City Council May 26, 2014
"I think it is the responsibility of a town, a city, elected officials who want humanists
(...) to welcome these people who sometimes do not have a choice and do not always start
from home simply because they feel like it, but sometimes because they are compelled to do
so. "Mathieu Cahn, deputy mayor in charge of the fight against discrimination, City
Council 22 September 2014.
"I do not think that in a city like Strasbourg, it could leave these people in the street,
without a solution for them. "Roland Ries, Mayor of Strasbourg City Council September 22,
2014.
"We decided in Strasbourg to look at these poor people, living in the street, especially
in terrible sanitary conditions in great danger for them yourself, we decided to provide
social and humanitarian gaze. "Marie-Dominique Dreyssé, Deputy Mayor in charge of
Solidarity, the fight against insecurity and accommodation of the Roma population, city
council September 22, 2014.
Is it normal that the city departments, including the rather handsomely funded Roma
Mission, endorse and maintain of such miserable situations?
Regular reminders by elected officials of the City of the humanist tradition of host
Strasbourg and the most destitute supported living on its soil, will they be worth in the
context of grants vote?
