(en) Federació Anarquista de Gran Canaria: The FAGC and
repression -- Application for mutual support (ca) [machine
translation]
During the four years of existence of the Anarchist Federation of Gran Canaria the clash
with police and judicial repression has been a constant. When we were engaged in a purely
campaign solvent and were attacking the political and financial institutions, we
criticized the professionalized social movements, reventábamos demonstrations yellow, or
even when we started a campaign against police bullying unions, we do not suffer as much
the effects of repression Like now, we focus mainly on poor families relocate. ---- The
authorities prefer that anarchists burn the bank tellers to occupy abandoned their homes
and socialize. The first falls within the script, it is the image they expect, it looks
good on the front pages of their newspapers; the second the disturbs not know how to
criminalize and also sets a fatal precedent.
In the last year and a half, just when we have fewer resources as repression or overwork
our number has dwindled it is when we conducted our most frenzied and productive activity.
It would be difficult to enumerate the number of families resettled, even more people (we
estimate that since mid-2013 over 400 people have lived under the roof through FAGC), and
also the expropriated properties (as of the same date, more 200 homes have been socialized
in different parts of the island). The largest number of relocations have occurred in the
past year, realojando 102 people in a single quarter.
This activity, leaving a balance of such positive (at least numerically) results, its
share of blood and repression are also charged. The FAGC is the spearhead of a campaign
whose repressive consequences relocation pay alone. Although media attention we have to
demand legalistic to regularize the situation of resettled measures, this is only the
final part of our "fait accompli" 1 . The reality is that we get to that point after a
corollary of illegal actions thoughtfully. Yes, we live necessarily outside the law,
systematically breaking it: we open abandoned homes, changed the locks, if we can
facilitate power supply and aquifer, etc. Apart from that we get involved in managing
(more public or more discrete) human communities, facing the challenge to satisfy basic
needs with the few tools we have. We are on the edge of a very sharp knife that always
tends to cut in the same place.
But we are not martyrs or unconscious. We do this not victims of a fit of madness, wanting
to immolate or under the inability to measure the consequences. We always knew what we
explained to us. We have simply been forced by sensitivity, commitment and conviction to
help the most disadvantaged. We were brainstorming that when the system is preparing to
teach compondríamos teeth and part of a small guerrilla; the reality is that this has
become more of a battle of snipers. But we must recognize that we had made this
calculation. Yes, it is very rewarding and recognition for their work; but if not
available to us previously repressive anti-organized networks, threats of imprisonment,
trials and detention should always be loaded on the same back. Without coordination that
has significance beyond the local, we can not spend all our time and effort to fight
against housing and simultaneously organize these networks of solidarity.
Many of our colleagues have feared for their safety and decided to get off the moving
train; Many relocated precisely the most committed to restoring solidarity received, have
followed suit. Most linked to FAGC barely pay the price support of a committed and also
the activity of these understandable "defections". Specific peers, most show their faces
and exposed, are choked with administrative penalties (fines for disturbing public order
in places where they were not even or produce altercations in manifestations that could
not even go), reported ad nauseam by the pilgrims reasons, riddled with Kafkaesque claims
arising from repression 2 , etc. The idea is to immobilize them, drown them in paper,
bleed them financially. Bureaucracy is another way to repress. In the worst cases they tie
the hands of the affected enmeshing him in endless resources and legal matters, and is
forced (to him and his collective) to invest their scarce resources on lawyers, attorneys,
fees and fines (more than 560 euros we spent the last two months); at best, a prison
sentence. Many are filing complaints or dismissing, but you will still require one of our
companions five years in prison. The economic situation has been so hard (as we have had
to divert most of our funds contain repression) that our cyber silence in recent months is
due in large part because we have not had the means to afford all or Internet.
Having seen, it remains to apply the solidarity of those who support our work. When we
circulated the account number to support the Community "Hope" at first it was thought that
some could go destined for repressive anti expenses. However, very quickly it decided FAGC
draw the line: the money from the account go exclusively to the expenses (water and the
like) of the Community, to thereby avoid misunderstandings and define priorities. What we
proposed in assembly and neighbors accepted. Therefore, everything donated is dedicated
exclusively to that need. Now close your repressive noose knot and we are forced to repeat
the call, but in this case to support the police-administrative-legal harassment to which
he is subjected FAGC. I honestly do not have much hope in this initiative. The most
generous partners and colleagues around the state (and even Germany) have made tremendous
efforts to show solidarity with our work through their contributions to the Community.
They are individuals, groups and unions who do not receive subsidies of any kind and who
depend on their work or contributions of its members to survive. We do not intend,
therefore, that no one has to do twice as much effort. Nevertheless, so that there is no
record of having spent the last cartridge, we do this last call for solidarity:
1 First we would like to weave the network to which we referred. Contact comrades willing
to provide cover against a possible worsening repression as to convey information at least
against news media. People willing to speak out for our fellow reprisals can not be silent.
2. That any partner or co-versed in legal matters, lawyers and solicitors are offered to
counsel and, if necessary, to contribute to a bearable price, far from bleeding to which
we are currently undergoing.
3rd While this is articulated, we need economic cooperation to cope with the flood of
legal fees that we are presenting and that have caused the most affected now have their
bank accounts seized. For that we open a new account (healthy and safe) to anyone who
wishes can send us your solidarity (any doubt about the account contact us
anarquistasgc@gmail.com):

We will use the trick of solidarity but does not go as we expect, nothing to worry
comrades; there is nothing to make us deviate from our path. Tactics change, projects die
with the same ease with which they will be reborn others recapacitaremos and will draw new
roads, fight elsewhere and in other ways, but never stop, never turn aside our steps from
our main objective: to bring to all who they want to build and live it a little hard
beautiful Anarchy.
Suppressing can make us rethink new ways to deliver our shots, but can not, because they
are unable, to disarm. Maybe we are forced to be more imaginative and resourceful, to
simply invent new forms of struggle that neither his repressive roller can crush. Yes,
someday FAGC may disappear or change of name (acronym matter what?), But the spirit that
drives is stronger than the shackles of the state, its dungeons, its prisons and its laws.
You can already use all your paper and steel postmarked or sinking because low volumes of
all laws and locking us behind bars will achieve their stop. Some things never die.
______________
1 A bank or a public body ever offer a social rent if you are not subject to this policy.
No they can "ask" the granting of a rent on vacant houses; if we get it we have to do on
previously occupied homes and force them to concede the only way to resolve the conflict.
Its intrinsic selfishness make them opt for the "lesser evil".
2 We warn: if the police you like and you are not in accordance with the share of injuries
made during detention and decide to go on your own to the emergency room or doctor, when
referring to a aggression overcharge costs if the term will require social security do not
you present the complaint. Three complaints and threats of embargo have one of our
colleagues who has failed to make it clear to any official who is still trying to raise
the money to file a complaint with conditions.
