Boston

Earlier this year I allowed that one of my resolutions on the new year was to pray harder.  I am .  I will.  Pray harder.

The last time I was in Boston was a less than a year ago.  My wife and I spent a wonderful day in the city visiting with my brother who was in from California.  We drove the 4 hours north and we just had a memorable visit.  He was on his vacation and on his way to Cape Cod.

We had become something of old hands at Boston from our daughters years there at college.  Boston is a city that is easy to love, it is a walking city with energy and beauty. But while there the last time,I found a new feature, a labyrinth , between the Market and the North End.  It was a beautiful labyrinth.  I have long been fascinated by their swirling repetetive pattern.  You walk them and meditate or pray or think.

Today I am walking the labyrith of Boston, and I am meditating on the concept of good, praying for the families of the injured and thinking of all who have been hurt.  There was good demonstrated by those who ran to help, the families of the injured and dead need to know that we support them and think of them.
Take a walk on their labyrinth with me and think your own thoughts.

I also am meditating on the concept of evil, for surely that was present, praying that the perpetrators are caught amd thinking about what motivated someone to do such a thing.  What hatred entered that mind and why.  That kind of hatred must be extinguished.
