Dear friends,
Do you believe a person's sexuality can be a "sickness," in need of a "cure"?
That's what hundreds of thousands of gay people are told in so-called "treatment" centres around the world...
It's a silent, global phenomenon. We've run campaigns to fight back against anti-gay "treatments" in the U.S., Argentina, France, and China. But stories from survivors keep coming from new places, and it's become clear that we've got our work cut out for us.
That's why All Out is launching the Gay "Cure" Watch – an online tool where people can report dangerous "treatment" seminars as they show up in their community. We'll take it from there – campaigning with our millions of members to get these dangerous places shut down for good.
One generous All Out member is so fired up about getting the Gay "Cure" Watch launched, they've pledged to match every donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $75,000, until our deadline ends at midnight on July 31st.
Luc, you’ve taken action to end anti-gay “treatments” before – thank you! Now, take your commitment one step further and chip in today:
Anti-gay "treatments" are actively telling people - including very young teenagers – that to be gay is a sign of weakness or psychological problems. Survivors tell stories of intrusive, humiliating, and outrageous tactics, that leave many traumatized for life.
We're ready to fight back. With your support, we'll have the Gay "Cure" Watch up and running by September. And by the end of this year, we'll be going after the places our members report, urging communities to take a stand. Then, as the campaign grows, we'll call on the media and politicians to act to get these places shut down for good.
It's not a battle we can win overnight. Sadly, thousands more people will be subjected to these false "therapies" before we can put an end to them. But we're ready to keep up the fight for as long as it takes – are you?
Chip in today to fund the Gay "Cure" Watch, because no one should be told that their love is a disease:
With the support of millions of All Out members who know that these therapies must be stopped, we will win.
Thanks for going All Out,
Andre, Sarah, Guillaume, Rose, and the rest of the All Out Team.
