since days around 2.000 new arived refugees in Lesvos, walking around, not having where to stay and not being registered because of the very few police able to do so in Moria. The newly opened tent space in Kara Tepe is also overcrowded two days after it opened.
The solution was given today, having a special boattrip of the ship Blue Star to take 2.000 refugees to Athens, so today the harbour of Lesvos is empty.
the question is for how long?

The major reacted to the open letter of some business men from Molivos refusing to accept that the camping space in Molivos opens for newcoming refugees to stay the first hours before they can get transfered to Kara Tepe or Moria detention to get registered. They fear that tourism will suffer. although oviously tourists in Lesvos are from the first day acting in solidarity all over. at the beaches at the roads.
the Major Galinos answered to the "woried people in Molivos" that the new spaces for
new ariving refugees will be done there where the people arive, and that this will not change.

tomorow an organised convoi of cars will start from Panagiouda to go to the places on the island where new people arived to pick them up and make in an organised form something that the authorities call "ilegal": to transfer people in urgent need of help ,without taking any money for it of course. The action organised by " the village of all together" and other groups like "ergatiki lesxi mitilinis" has been made publik since days with a call to break the law for humanity.

the grupe of lawyers of athens has made a call against the criminalisation of people taking refugees in their cras to bring the to the spaces were the authorities can register them. only in greek.

the english Eftalou family that is reporting daily on youtube and helps new ariving refugees has been frobiden by lokal police to help refugees and even be at the beach of eftalou (wher their home also is) this happend oviously after a request from people working in the Eftalou Hotsprings who feel that tourists are disturbed by refugees.
it seems that tourists traveling to Lesvos the next weeks have to prove to the local konservative right wing people who argue rasistic in their name , that the reality is different.
Tourists support and are in solidarity with Refugees! Lets show it!

frontex plans to augment there oficers in greek islands specially Lesvos and Kos and ask the eu for more humanitarian help for first centers of arival. (we know what they mean...)
