And our little country has been and is still a privileged jazz area, with numerous international level peformers. Amongst them, Bobby Jaspar (disappeared in 1963 aged 37, played with Kenny Clarke, Jimmy Gourley, Chet Baker…) and guitarist René Thomas (died in 1975 aged 49, played with Lucky Thompson, Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock…). They played a lot together, and share that special “Belgian sound and jazz compositions” made of humor and total generosity.
