 | Dolce & Gabbana said that gay families aren’t real families – boosting anti-gay politicians around the world. Can you speak up now in support for all the loving families that don’t fit a traditional model? | |
Dear Luc,
Fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana are sparking global outrage. They said gay families aren’t “real families”.Prejudice like this coming from such big names is giving anti-gay politicians ammunition to attack the rights of families that don't fit a traditional model.
Together, we can limit their damage by showing huge public support for loving families of all shapes and sizes: single parent families, families with gay, lesbian, bi or trans parents, or with children adopted or conceived through IVF.
Do you believe that what makes a family is love – and that all families deserve the same protection? Then don't let bigots win. Sign now: go.allout.org/en/a/dolce-gabbana We need to act quickly to counter the damage of Dolce & Gabbana's high-profile bigotry.
An anti-gay Senator in Italy has already spoken out in support of them. She Tweeted: “I’m with @dolcegabbana...Long live the family with a mother and a father”.
In France, anti-gay group Manif Pour Tous are attacking the rights of families who aren't "traditional enough". High profile prejudice from Dolce & Gabbana – who even said that children conceived by IVF are “synthetic” – could help them build support for their anti-gay ideas.
If All Out members around the globe act together now to back non-traditional families, we can build a huge public outcry. And we’re not alone. Already Elton John, Victoria Beckham and Ricky Martin have expressed their outrage about what Dolce & Gabbana said.
Last week, 60,000 of us rallied behind All Out member Mirjam when she was banned by train company Thalys from kissing her girlfriend. And we won! Thalys reacted within just two days to denounce homophobia and commit to improve the equality training of their staff. Now let’s discredit Dolce & Gabbana’s prejudice against non-traditional families: go.allout.org/en/a/dolce-gabbana Thanks for going All Out,
Andre, Guillaume, Lucy, Oscar, Rose and the rest of the All Out team.
P.S. Can you believe that fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana attacked gay families? Their bigotry could help anti-gay politicians gain ground. Speak out in support for families that don’t fit a traditional model:go.allout.org/en/a/dolce-gabbana
