(en) France, Alternative Libertaire AL Toulouse - antiracism
- a demonstration studded with flashing lights (fr, it, pt) [machine

How have cost hundreds of CRS, dozens of LAC's agents, the trucks travel with riot grids
and even with water cannon? All that to frame 300 protesters and demonstrators, certainly
dynamics (chanting slogans, songs ...) but certainly not "violent" ... ---- Saturday,
March 21 as part of a mobilizing national, a protest against all forms of racism and
fascism was organized in Toulouse. The demonstrators and protesters played the game and
filed the course in prefecture one week before the event. The initial course, which was to
end at Esquirol in the city center, was banned and an alternative route ending at
Saint-Cyprien was discussed between the protesters and demonstrators and authorized by the
prefecture. ---- Despite this, the eve of the event, Friday, February 20, cops in uniform
entered the shops of Saint-Cyprien to prevent traders and merchants a "demonstration
Sivens" unauthorized and possibly violent, would take place the next day and that they
should prepare to close shop if overflows. Or how to create tension where there is not ...
La Depeche du Midi, true to itself published on that day (Saturday 21 February) a
scandalous article about the alleged violent protesters and demonstrators, even before the
parade began. The article is illustrated with a photo of the event for ZAD February 21
where the windows were broken, that the newspaper did not fail to recall, even mentioning
the cost of the damage.
Does the paper have the same attention to detail to encrypt the astronomical cost of
police deployment of the demonstration on March 21? How have cost hundreds of CRS, dozens
of LAC's agents, the trucks travel with riot grids and even with water cannon? All that to
frame 300 protesters and demonstrators, certainly dynamics (chanting slogans, songs ...)
but certainly not "violent". There is even no tags deplorable!
This is probably the disappointment of not being able to catch the "thugs" who has pushed
baqueux to make a very muscular identity check at the end of the event, mainly aimed
hooded persons who provided the service order (with the primary mission of protecting the
manifestation of the cops ...). But everybody has stood against these police provocations
and the demonstration was dispersed quietly and safely under the eye sometimes mocking,
sometimes hostile police.
We denounce disproportionately supervision of the event of March 21, and more broadly the
police handling of protests since the death of Rémi Fraisse last October. Indeed, under
the pretext of legitimately expressed anger that since the murder, the city center is
closed to protest, and we're forced-scrolling under guard.
This was the case on March 21, but on March 7 for feminist protest, during which in
addition to suffering police repression we had to wrestle sexism and anti-feminism primary
cops. At a time when events are less massive, it does staggering police presence made
things worse by discouraging non-militant people to travel to events.
It is even more sickening to see such police deployment, when you know what it costs and
that is hammered us also that there is more money in the coffers to justify, for example,
three billion euros of savings in the public hospital service.
Finally, it is intolerable that every demonstration, the activists are suspected es of
violence, while the cops can kill, maim, rape, beating, monitor, being almost always
washed-es of guilt. It is clear that the defense of freedom of expression endorsed by
politicians and politicians in January was only a facade posture, and above was the
defense of an expression that goes into their meaning.
