Tunisia, snapshots of a transition (fr, it, pt) [machine translation]
Based in Tunisia, freelance photographer Marieau Palacio exposes the Mediterranean
Institute for Research and Studies Middle East (iReMMo), a series of photographs depicting
the small as the great history of the country since August 2013. ---- A large part of the
exhibition takes us into the atmosphere of the recent elections that led to the rise to
power of Beji Caid Essebsi candidate Nidaa Tunes, opposition to Islamist Ennahda, which
poses the risk a return to power of the old regime ... An iconic election difficulty to
sustain the hopes raised by the 2011 revolution that ousted the dictator Ben Ali from
power and launched the great movement of the Arab Spring in many countries of North Africa
and the Middle East. ---- The shots capture with accuracy and sensitivity these Tunisians
and Tunisian those who intend to be involved in their history and the transition that is
played for four years in their countries, both union UGTT, protesters, young or old,
oligarchs and ordinary citizens or citizens.
Self-taught photographer, a former educator and street theater actress, Marieau Palacio
sign first exhibition which shows that the social and political acuity is not incompatible
with the aesthetic concern.
