Our Social Movement for the Recovery of Water and Life sympathizes and supports the

communities, Coirón, Cuncumen, Quiet, Punta Nueva, Llimpo, Jorquera, Santa Rosa, La
Higuerilla, Salamanca, El Tambo, Las Cañas, Limahuida and Canelillo, in the province of
Choapa, have risen to support Alligators people's struggle against Minera Los Pelambres ,
cutting off access roads to the valley, through various mechanisms of popular resistance.
Our movement and communities agree on the systematic and permanent damage to the land and
waterways by Minera Los Pelambres, that have no water and unable to exercise their main
productive activities, such as agriculture and tenure animals as well as access to water,
which borders on the violation of basic human rights.
With all this, given the situation in the valley of Choapa as Social Movement for the
Recovery of Water and Life stated:
1- We denounce this government collusion with the Luksic group , who have allowed Minera
Los Pelambres not respect the ruling of the Supreme Court and, in turn, have violently
suppressed communities that require JUSTICE respect and close Tranque El Mauro tailings.
2- We reject the violent act of Carabineros and we challenge the Ministry of Interior to
answer for his role in the events.
3-also denounce the complicity of the mass media , who have not had the decency to cover
these facts, obscuring the mobilization of communities Choapa.
4- We call on all social organizations by water and the right to life of the communities
along Chile, to show solidarity with Choapa Valley communities that are suffering
repression by ordering that justice is done.
5- strongly support the exemplary struggle that is giving the province of Choapa who,
tired of so much abuse, requires your dignity. That's why, as a Social Movement for the
Recovery of Water and Life, composed of social organizations throughout Chile, demand that
Minera Los Pelambres respect the ruling of the Supreme Court and, in turn, that the State

6-Finally, we call on all social organizations and movements that decide to support
communities of the Province of Choapa in the metropolitan area, to gather in front of La
