Jasmine was on Interceptor her whole life. I liked it because it had only one, relatively benign ingredient, didn't treat anything other than what we were trying to treat and Jasmine never had any problems with it.
As the news broke that Interceptor wasn't going to be available, we stocked up for as long as the expiry allowed.
Particularly with all her issues I did not want to change drugs on her.
After her passing we still had some left to start using it of Cookie. Eventually we did run out and the product was nowhere to be found any more. Because Cookie is a healthy young dog, we switched her to the same product JD was on.
Discontinued by Novartis, Interceptor should once again become available this spring, this time under new owner, Elanco.
I'm not sure whether or not I'll be switching back to it, but I'm glad it'll be out there.
