I did have plenty of food, water and a clean litter box, but that is not the point. I have a staff for a good reason; to keep me company, entertain and pet me when I feel like it. I'm sure you understand that I had to teach them a lesson.
In the other hand, this situation allowed me to concentrate on the project I mentioned a couple of days ago. So this situation kind of combined an interesting project and an effective revenge.
Let me show in practice what I mean. This is what they found when they came back (in addition to a very loudly meowing yours truly behind the door...)

Oh, it's just some paint and pieces of wallpaper from such heights you poor humans have difficulties to reach... You know how I like to climb up there and scratch that post? Well, I had ALL the time in the world to do exactly that while you where somewhere else having fun without me! Next time, think twice before you try to pull a stunt like that!

Yes, I had knocked the plant down again. I'm pretty sure we can soon say goodbye to it.
I'm sure my staff don't leave me alone for a night again.
