"What we need is a good war," say the reactionaries, nostalgic about old times and
governments around the world (or almost). Whatever the dead, provided you climb in the
polls. Because whether in Mali in 2013 (when the authorities did not want to use the word
"war"), or now, following the dramatic attacks (where we deprive more than that "France is
at war") every time the president Hollande, army chief, is experiencing a resurgence of
popularity.
One effect of the famous sacred union, which would silence our differences ... to fight
together against the common enemy. Valls breaking records of popularity and takes the
opportunity to be applauded on Jan. 13 by a National Assembly almost unanimous in
denouncing such a "new anti-Semitism that is born in our neighborhoods, on the Internet
background, parables, misery, background of loathing of the State of Israel ... ".
Not bad though, for someone who preaches national unity, to designate entire regions,
entire populations, as guilty of a criminal anti-Semitism. But all those going into the
war would do well to remember that the Malian President embellished Holland in 2013 lasted
only two months and that the war of 14 had, for some, arrested in 1917!
