The anarchist Emma Goldman Collective is pleased to take part in the event against
racism "110% Québécois". This is an independent initiative and without benefit of a few
people in the region. "110% Québécois" is the name of several local anti-racist
initiatives following the last racist incident directed by the local cell neo-Nazi
splinter group "Quebec Federation of strain." Here is a short description of the workshop:
---- The activity will start with a brief overview on cultural diversity in the history of
the region. Initial contacts settlers with First Nations, through the work of blacks in
the clearing of the area and the participation of people of dozens of nationalities during
industrialization until today. From a critical reflection on the identities constructed
through these pathways, we will question together on what are the different dimensions of
racism in the Saguenay-Lac St-Jean.

Then, as we can not effectively fight against racism if we limit ourselves to participate
in elections and filing complaints (which too often remain ineffective), we ask what
individual and collective actions we can take in the region, step by step, stick together
and unite against racism is experienced. While we live a time of economic crisis and
imperialist wars that are bogged down, it feels like a parallel rise of populism, social
exclusion and scapegoating groups on the basis of their religious beliefs or their
physical appearance, can we make our region an example of inclusive and anti-racist
community? All your ideas and projects are welcome es - the focus will be on the exchange
and discussion!
